It is bc downward vibrato sounds more full and takes more space. The upward bend you have to bend slightly faster

Hey man !! love the channel and i have a question. I saw one of ur frytte power station video where u were really happy with it but not reccomending it for someone with just one amp and cab. I recently got a silver jubilee and i dont know if i should get the power station or not cuz im not very happy with the sound im getting without an attenuator. Could you please tell me your opinion ? also have u tried any other attenuators that u maybe liked even more ? Thank u !
@Texasbluesalley2 күн бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. The only reason I said it's not really for someone with a single amp and cab is because it costs as much as some amps. But honestly, if you can afford it, I'd recommend getting one because you wouldn't believe how nice it is to be able to crank up a big amp and control the volume with the Power Station. I also own the Tone King Ironman attenuator, which is probably the best regular attenuator you can buy. Although it sounds fine, it only allows you to dial back the volume in 3db increments. This is still a fairly large jump in volume, and depending on the power of the amp, you might find that one setting is too quiet and the next setting is too loud. That's really where the Power Station outclasses everything else. The infinitely adjustable volume is a must-have for me.

Lonnie said that Albert Collins and Roy Buchanan are 2 of his favorite guitarist. Also watch the video specials with Lonnie and SRV you can tell SRV was overflowing with joy playing with one of his idols.
@Sldumas19835 күн бұрын
Lonnie Mack and Roy Buchanan are probably some of the most underrated yet they play like they’re the King Sharks, Go and study these men just amazing.
@Sldumas19835 күн бұрын
There is a reason why SRV admired Lonnie and used a lot of Lonnie’s playing styles most people think it’s just Albert King and Freddie and T Bone but it was also Lonnie Mack as well one of the greatest ever. Rip both men

This is volume 1, but I don't see any volume 2 on the website. Is there a volume 2?

Hard to take someone's advice on frets when they have their numbers backwards (height vs width).

Im search for a intro/turnaround I can't figure out 100% and don't find it anywhere. Who knows this? It's the beginning of the song Good Thinking Bad Man from Status Quo. I know the song alright and have the TAB, but not the intro.

Very nice! I've been looking for a good way to play this in standard tuning (I believe Johnny used Open A). Well done, sir.

I'll never stop being amazed by your SRV/Jimi-esque tone. What the hell do you do to achieve that "crisp clean" sound? I don't understand.

For most of my lessons since 2016, I'm using a Kemper Profiler. And most of the time I'm using a profile from Tone Junkie. I can't remember which profile I used for this lesson, but probably a Fender Super Reverb, or Dual Showman.

It's hard for me to remember that far back, but I'm pretty sure I was just using a Kemper Profiler.

Never played an Epiphone Firebird but did play a Gibson Firebird VII in a guitar store once and two people came up to me and said they thought I was playing a strat. Was a GREAT guitar. Couldn't afford it at the time.

I go to a lot of gigs. I always check out setlistfm so that I at least have heard everything that I expect to hear on the night. But I have seen the RCB many times now and I never worry at all about what the band will play on the night because you know they are always fabulous.

I really got into Los Lonely Boys about 10 years ago. They’ve got some great songs, aside from Heaven. Anyone who really likes fast blues should check out their songs Señorita and Superhero. They’re clearly inspired by SRV, and tune 1/2 step down too.

I don’t understand why this is not described simply as A major and it’s relative minor which is F sharp minor… Those are the two chords that he is moving between…

To my ears, both are interesting, a matter of taste or what suits better for certain song. I like them both. The 250k has a very unique mid tone I like it so much, very suitable for blues. But that mid disappears with the 500k pot, but it's very open and airy, rich with overtones, I think suits best for pop and jangly music.

The problem with trying to sound like someone else shows that you play with no feel. And that's irritating. When you play you have to show that you have a personality. People want to feel they're getting to know you when you play.

He's amazing. Iv'e been a fan since 1986 when he released "Strong Persuader." His music has SOUL. It's funky as crap too. Richard Cousins, the bassist, has been with him for the better part of 40 years. He's a beast on bass. Lays down an awesome groove. In any case, I'm currently stocking up on Robert Cray CDs.
