Hadar, the more I watch your videos, the more I get inspired to know that it's possible to master "an American accent". And again just like you've said in previous videos, there's nothing wrong with having an accent as long as it doesn't compromise comprehension, but it's amazing for accent reduction lovers like me, to hear you and all of your tips. I hope one day I can achieve your level of fluency and perfection in accent. Thank you so much for your videos. Hughs from Monterrey, Mexico.

Actually, after discovering your channel, I started to believe that I can improve my accent. I had given up many years ago and haven't done anything about it. Now, when I need to speak and create content, I realize that I need to take action; otherwise, I'll keep self-sabotaging and making excuses not to do so. Thanks to you, I am now practicing every day and seeing massive improvement! 😉

Dear Hadar! It's just a masterpiece! I'm so amazed by you, your work, your ability to hear a sound and know exactly what to do and moreover to explain it in a perfectly understandable way!!! You are my role model in so many aspects and I admire you so much!!! Maera already has such a fantastic pronunciation, but, of course, such a pronunciation lover as I am, I understand the desire get better and also the need of it for her career! And, Maera, I'm so happy I could watch this video and the first part too, because you are another example for me that it is possible to have a huge change in your pronunciation even when you are an adult! Thank you so much, Hadar, for this incredible and valuable video! I learned a lot from it!!!

This was really insightful! As I have no coach, I'm trying to become one for myself. I do occasionally film myself speaking and then analyze which sounds cause most tension and resistance in me. This session with Maera really demonstrates how to target and approach different aspects of speech. Thank you so much, Hadar and Maera ❤This channel is an invaluable source of useful information.

There is something very interesting: if we don't know a language and someone speaks that language with accent, we will understand. For example i don't know Italian and Korean but when an Italian speaks Korean, i know he isn't Korean.

This is amazing!!! Awesome advices. Where can I find more videos focus on couching someone on his/her pronunciation. I know there are some in KZbin, but are very general, there aren't not focus in the pronunciation. Thank you in advance.

In reality English is sooo complicated to grasp. Some people get it quickly, others, like myself with decades in the US, never get it completely.
@sahibtaghizade1262 Жыл бұрын
Thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Really surprised you didn't mention how she falls into vocal fry at the end of her sentences, which is actually what causes her to sound lazy, in my opinion, and leads her to swallow the content words.
@hadar.shemesh Жыл бұрын
I addressed it differently:) without labeling it as vocal fry and creating a stigma around it. Vocal fry happens when we use pitch that is much lower than our optimum pitch level. Helping her find her optimum pitch level is another way to solve the challenge. I’m glad you enjoyed it! :)

12:57 SNEAK - I think Maera needs to focus on that EA part. It's not as projecting as Hadar's is.

Dear Hadar, what's your native language?
@xerses74 Жыл бұрын
The goal shouldn't be to have an American accent or a British accent or a Canadian accent. What's important is to put stress on the right syllable and having a correct pronunciation.
@MaxEnglishCoach Жыл бұрын
I see your point, but the goal should be whatever the person decides their goal should be.
@ollyvernorris3926 Жыл бұрын
I am sorry for what I am gonna tell you guys but the most important thing is placement.
@hadar.shemesh Жыл бұрын
It really depends on the person and their speech. Placement is not the most important thing is the person substitutes consonants, eliminates sounds, or disconnected thought group. The most important thing is to identify what the person needs correctly :)
@hadar.shemesh Жыл бұрын
I agree that clarity is more important than having the right accent (especially since there’s no one accent). But in Maera’s case - she’s an actress playing American roles and that’s critical for her career.
@abdullahr1167 Жыл бұрын
“Shouldn’t”! Who says so? My goal is to learn the general American accent, it’s my personal preference/choice
@rejanecarvalho7316 Жыл бұрын
I believe you made a mistake. I'm a teacher and I'm pretty sure the correct way to say what you said is: to prevent her from and not what you said: to prevent from her.
@hadar.shemesh Жыл бұрын
You’re absolutely right. That’s indeed the correct form, and I know it:) it just didn’t come out of my mouth in this natural conversation for some reason. Probably I was thinking of something else. It happens. But I’m happy this gives you all a good reason to point out my mistakes👍 whatever brings you joy😉
