yess thank you sm!! calarts actually only weighs the importance of the sketchbook around 15%. from what i know, they prioritize the portfolio and artist statement, and they want to know from your sketchbook that you can adapt and build on ideas, rather than making fully finished works!

hi !!! It definitely depends but I think for most of these I went straight in with pen! With more complex stuff I like to plan things out lightly in pencil, but practicing going straight into pen can make you a much more confident artist c:

Nah man you’re all good! Honestly it depends on the sketch, but I think in this sketchbook I tried with most drawings (if not all) to go directly into pen / whatever medium I was using without doing construction lines. I did this so I could gain more confidence and control in the way I made my lines :]

I used a bunch but I’ll try my best to list them all here: • tombow fudenosuke brush pen for inking • soft marking pen (highlighter pack, I found it at daiso!) • pentel color pen fine point # s360 (blue and green) • prismacolor premier markers • posca paint pens • mildliner highlighters I think that’s everything lol!
