Sonya: There are people behind wheelchairs, walkers, whatever mobility aide they use that doesn't define them. They're regular people, just like anyone else.

Sonya: My name is Sonya Demone and I’m a published author.

Sonya: I'm a published children’s author of a book called “Happy and Dee’s Adventures”. And it promotes that people with any kind of disability or challenge can anything they want to.

Sonya: I have cerebral palsy. The only thing it affects really is that I can't walk and my muscles don't move as quick as other people.

Sonya: I've been working with New Leaf for a total of 11 years. We learned mailing skills, emailing, a lot of word processing, and one day a week I work in the café for 3 hours and I get paid.

Sonya: “pop runs seven... for a total of thirteen.”

Sonya: It gives somebody like me a place to go that they’re accepted. They will work with your disability. It's wonderful.
Sonya: “And away you go.”

Sonya: I was looking for something to do at work and writing put me in another place and suddenly it was written. I want to educate other kids that even though you have a disability, try not to let that stop you. If I can accomplish this in six months, then I can do anything.
