Best demo I have heard for a Virus C, or almost any other synth as for that matter. Very good composition, production and "synth voicing" skills. Wish there were more people doing stuff like this instead of the normal meaningless noodling.

Excellent demo, these are one of the best synth for prog rock and ambient music, they are much more than your normal Modelled Analogue Synth, it will take you into wonderful new dimension of sounds.

NO it's not more then a normal modelled synth , it's a modelled synth ..that's all there is too it Take away the effects and the virus is really not that special ( talking about the a,b,c models ) , I always preffered the early clavia nord filters ..

I can answer your question quite easily: People are obsessed with demos of vintage gear, hyped new gear, and very thorough demos with lots of words all over the videos. These are good demos of course, nothing against them. But very nice demos like this get put off to the side. People are just not interested in 'not analog, not new digital' gear. Some day this will change, but by then, this video will be down in the archives. It doesn't help that there are so many different versions of the Virus, so there is pull from A, B, C, TI (and their respective keyboards/desktops). I think if the OP keeps posting excellent demos, they'll gain some traction.

@@Ara-d5p Hey smartguy, you don't understand. The Virus is a computer. It has no analog filters, these are emulated like in VST's. Therefore it;s called 'virtual analog' or VA Google it up: 'access virus wiki'

While the VIRUS TI/TI2 have amazing sound-shaping capabilities, the early VIRUS models' sound quality are infinitely better for some reason.

My first synth was a Virus b and this sound will forever be my "neutral synth sound" whether I want it to or not. All other synths and their respective characters exist, in my irreversibly corrupted ears, in relation to the "neutral" Virus sound.

I’ve always heard the praises about the Virus Access family but never understood why. After listening your demo i can realize why. i had the "chance" to buy so many different synthetiser in my life , analog or not , from all of that the virus C is the BEST synthetiser module i ever buy ....the arpegiator is not so good in sync but except this, its superb , the analog filter make the difference ....also the effects are very good also, and 32 polyphony.....16 multitimbral.....& billion patchs available >>>>try to find same specy today in 2020 for' that price......i bought the TI and sold it 1 month later, the filter is not good as C version...

arf that's a real bummer... I had a TI and sold it cause the USB added mad latency on my computer when using the official editor. Then I discovered the Mystery Island editor but was too late (it works with midi din). I regret the Virus a bit. Have you tried not sending SPP informations? I know is supposed to improve midi tightness but on Reaper it doesn't and often mess with the clock sync

I like this Virus version and the Ti2. The Ti2 can not deliver this raw texture, it is more trance. This one is more techno.

The virus ti2 has all the same sounds as the C plus extra possibilities. But can 100% do what the C can. As it's the same engine basically. I've owned a C for many years and now have a ti (since about 2012) and it is easy to make C sounds on. Just don't use the Ti only waves and effects and it's the same

You can do a lot (not all) of this with the B, if you have 4.8 firmware. And it's beautiful that you can flash 4.8 to such an old synth.

Could say this about every digital synth ever made. Virus hardware is wonderful. For me, I gotta want to touch it, and not everyone uses computers to make music. You'd have to peel my Virus B from my cold dead hands, the only way I'd ever part with that thing.

Not really. 4.8 update almost made them equal. You have more control pots on C for Effects and 3rd OSC. on B you need to do it in menu.
