Hello Rob, Nice video. I just became a CI candidate for my right ear. I've been researching all the three companies that provide cochlear implants and Cochlear Nucleus 8 seems to be the one I am strongly considering. I've been a hearing aid user for years and they no longer provide me the sounds I so much miss. I may have my surgery is Jan 2024 I am looking forward to this. I see from what you got is a lot of cool stuff. I can't wait to my activation day. I know it would be a lot of work to retrain my brain to hear sounds again. Mine came in a box with only mini remote as asscessory.

Hi Judy. What may be the reason for the number of my accessories is that my implant is the Cochlear brand, so maybe other brands don’t give as many. They mailed me an info packet with all the accessories for me to pick three specific ones. Then, I was surprised at this duffle bag filled with these extras. My implant was inserted and activated at Vanderbilt in Nashville, maybe that has something to do with it.

When choosing your CI did med-el give you the length of your cochlea and did they say you need the longer array? And why did you choose cochlear?

Not sure what med-el is nor what you’re referring to by choosing “the length” of my cochlear. A very confusing comment, sentence structure that is.
