Peter’s talking is like language doodling. In some strange way it perfectly fits his drawing. 🤔

i think you are right with buying things sometimes to get better. i bought a Canon A-1 camera years ago and it felt light years better than my old camera, maybe because it was a certain lens or viewfinder that made me choose better compositions and angle of approach? that happened the same with the pens that i use. not that i'm encouraging to buy expensive gear and saying that you improve by buying stuff, i'm just saying that sometimes, people are just a little better with specific tools (weither expensive or not)

I heavily relate to your speech about the pens/cameras, but for me it is with fishing gear. I don’t think a new rod makes any more fish show up, but it sure makes me want to get out and do it more/refine my skills to “justify” a purchase. As always man, love the doodling and the lighthearted chatting, keep on keepin on.

Peter, I bought your most recent Narwhal pen, and I'll tell you what it did for my doodling skills... nothing! BUT, I'm doodling waaaay more than I was before I bought your pen, so that's great! My drawings still suck, but that's ok. Maybe spending a few extra bucks on a tool inspires me to use the tool more. The satisfaction I get from drawing is priceless, so in my case, buying a specific product has helped me get pen to paper frequently. So, THANK YOU! I appreciate all the time you put into your content and the time and effort you put into your signature pen - I love that pen! Ready for another model to come out.

So fascinating how your mind words. It's akin to a dog smelling a cheeseburger. If a person smells a cheeseburger they smell a cheeseburger. If a dog smells a cheeseburger it smells cheese, meat, flour, yeast, mustard, relish etc etc. You don't see "outside". You see all the component parts that make up outside. IMO it's what takes your drawing to the next level. . . Fascinating!

There is something to be said about the quality of equipment increasing someone’s motivation and productivity. It’s been proven, there was a psychological study done about how the quality of equipment affected athletes’ performance, if I recall correctly.

One of my bosses commented, "nice camera" when I showed him a picture I had taken of my cats. It was a stunning capture but rather than complimenting, he gaslighted my art. So I think cameras can obviously improve your ability, according to that lord'n master.

Hullo Peter, I do enjoy watching your videos and listening to your commentary. You speak to your drawing and such a wide range of topics that are truly interesting, perhaps you create interest with your introspection? I am glad that you continue to create videos and artworks for your viewers, thank you. Sweet weather station vehicle, I have a sneaking suspicion that you have explored clouds and the formation of said clouds before. Not just photo’s either! You take care out there.

I tried to post pictures somewhere to describe my question but so didn’t find a discord and don’t know what else to use…. Regardless, Here is my question. I did my first drawing using a Rendr sketchbook and Pigma Micro 005. I made lots and lots of lines, all tiny and intricate. What I found has happened is, half way through the drawing the pen seems to look as if it’s running low on ink, I tried a few brand new pens and this problem persists. It’s as if the ink stops flowing. When I use the same pens on a moleskin book the ink flows fine, then back to the rendr book it gets all funny again. Any idea why this is happening? It seems to be doing it’s with the 003 and 005 Micron Pigmas. This only seemed to happen in the top right corner of the page near the end of the drawing. 🤷🏼♂️

This is something I really noticed when visiting North Carolina. The trees are omnipresent. Even going down the interstate you feel like you’re in a luge because the trees just wall in the roadway. Growing up in Colorado I’m used to being able to see the sky and more importantly you could almost always see mountains from wherever you were. It always gave you a way to orient yourself in the landscape. In NC I felt constantly lost and directionless because I didn’t have that.
