Accidentally Need New PiU Intro

This is a quick substitute for my regular PiU intro, which has mysteriously disappeared. Needs work, but what do you all think of the concept?

I think it works fine as a stopgap measure; I recall that when you'd initially spoken of a change, I said something like (a) I love it the way it is, but (b) it would be great to have a photo that shows the *breadth* of your interest in pens. Because, man, you've got *range*!

When I think of my favorite part of the channel is you talking on the couch. A nice photo of that type of scene with the date is my idea. I think you want a recognizable intro each time for viewers to connect with.

The slo-mo pen glamour shot looks good. I love, love, love how you get right into the content with minimal preamble! It drives me nuts when people talk about what they’re going to talk about doing instead of just doing it. It’s redundant metadata. And it seems to be quite the norm with most YT channels, especially those related to fountain pens.

I judge Speech every so often. A frequent comment I make is "Don't tell me the outline, just give the speech." And that's a bit different from doing a teaser.

@@WaskiSquirrel I wasn’t, or didn’t mean to accuse you of this as a teaser. I was only emphasizing a similar comment you made, or I was trying to anyway. I understand the need for a teaser or introduction banner for the YT content, and that’s fine & necessary. What I’m emphasizing is after the teaser/introduction when the person actually talks about what they are going to talk about and then tells you what they will be doing after they’ve talked about doing it and then what they’ll do after they’ve done it and talked about doing it. All before having done anything. 😬 You don’t do this and I’m grateful to you.

I like the idea, I would choose a different pen if it were me. Give it a bit more contrast in color, and make it as a unique of a fountain pen is you can get.

I'll definitely put some thought into it and do better than this temporary video. I want to work a few ideas into it including North Dakota.

I like it. Although, I think I'll miss the rOtring Core - I've come to associate that image with the PiU beginning I think. Definitely good to keep the same music! :)

Your prototype opening is nice and serene, but not necessarily unique to YOU! Try out some differing approaches, until one resonates with you or your viewers. It will be interesting to see what you decide on.

Yes, I'd like to find something unique to me. The one I used for years was mine, but there was also nothing unique about it.

I like the song, but not quite sure about the pen. Maybe you could take a vote on what pen people might want. I would vote for the Custom 823

I think a fancier pen as well. This was one of my first vintage pens and, at the time I took the photo, I wanted a photo where it looked like the pen was in a 60s setting.

That would work okay with the intro music. Agree with you that fancy intros are unnecessary time wasters. Found any new stationary/ pen shops in your travels of late?

Good point on the pen. Yes! End on the nib! A contest could be fun. I think one or two channels did that or else got viewer contributions!
