The Allure Best of Beauty Awards are always a big deal for skincare brands. I had no idea which products were making the list, so this video is really just a sit down ramble sharing my initial reaction.

I love your longer videos like these! Definitely keep them coming :) I personally ADORE Caudalie. Their Vinoperfect, & Vinopure lines are my favorite-I’ve tried everything from them. However, I legitimately cannot stand their Beauty Elixir Face Mist. It’s my N°1 least favorite product from their brand, & yet it’s one of their most tried. I always cringe so hard when I bring up loving Caudalie, & someone says “oh ya I’ve tried one of their products, & I actually didn’t like it”. I’m like “was it the Beauty Elixir😭”. It drives me crazy how it often deters people from trying other Caudalie products!

Hey Sam, I do love your irreverent posts. This one included but when you talked about pimple patches not doing anything I think you might be missing the point- if they are simply hydrocolloid patches they help your skin heal from the damage that the spot does so you get less of a scar, especially if you’re prone to hyper pigmentation however if you find microdart patches that contain salicylic acid, they DO actually penetrate the sport and reduce it quicker -just thought I’d fill you in if you weren’t aware….🤷🏼☺️

It's more so that I don't think they've had a practical effect when I've used them and prefer other topical options.

Loved hearing your thoughts on these. Im definitely surprised by some. There are so many wonderful products around and deserve to receive awards more than these. Absolutely agree with so much of your thoughts on these, especially how over priced some of the basic products are . Its fine and enjoyable to spend on well formulated products or luxury products for the reasons you mentioned, but some of these 🤷‍♀ Thanks Sam

Don't bother with the Caudalie mask nor the Dr Loretta cleanser, very unremarkable for the pricing. Bloomeffects is lovely for moisturisers though and Atobarrier feels great on the body after a shower, much recommended (:

I just want to know who exactly Barbara Sturm is. Her overpriced products are not just used by celebrities but boldly and persistently shoved in our faces via apparently the best kind of free advertising on the planet. Lucky her. How does she get them to sing her praises with such enthusiasm FOR FREE?! I'm thinking she's socially a very well connected woman. Y'know, holds the right political views, goes to the right kissy-kissy entertainment & politics kind of events, has a powerful husband or family with deep connections to a certain part of society. I laugh every time I see her products mentioned anywhere, especially if a Californian actress is involved. I can't help but be a little cynical. So much of this is not what you know or 'how hard you work' but WHO you know, how you hustle. The cult of personality is NEVER to be underestimated.

Great job. Appreciate your comments. I love my Omnilux face LED plus I have the neck one. My sunscreen choices are Korean/Japanese and Ultaviolette. I haven’t used a lot of these products and many are overpriced. I’ll wait for Niod’s upcoming sale. Trust them much more than many of these ‘winners’

I used to dilligently save all my birthday money as a teen living in the Philippines to buy the Allure October issue for the awards. I miss the glossy magazine ❤

I feel like I heard Dr DG skincare was being sued over that vita c product so it is weird to see it get a B.O.B award . Caudalie mist may have been B.O.B. 10 years ago but I haven't heard any hype about it sense . I have the Kate Summerville peptides serum with the roller ball bottle and it is nothing amazing infact it sucks and I'm kinda pissed I paid that amount of money for it but I was intrigued when I saw it packaging and the ingredients were good but there is so much more out there that are better that will give results that are not annoying drippy and makes for hard applications. The only SPF I use is Korean and that is because I breakout and I'm allergic to US chem filters and the texture is so much nicer then US. My recent find that I love and I'm picky I don't love SPF I'm not that girl was the The Lab oligo HA essence SPF 50 PA++++ its so nice.

Yeah, I think the DDG lawsuit was just around collagen claims rather than actual product issues. Shame about the KS serum :(

Thanks for another great roundup. The only product that appeals to me is the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Rescue Solution with 15% Bifidus Ferment. I'd like to try it as the formulation seems well thought out and sophisticated. But the RRP is AUD$145 for 20ml! Can you recommend genuine retailers that stock this product at a reasonable price? Where did you purchase yours? Thanks.
