So I've watched two sets of people play this (Jesse and Dodger when it first came out) and neither of them thought "hm maybe the other person might have a clue to the randomly walking around a maze puzzle", 10/10 genius, 5 stars

Tom, if you want lots of games that are like Rusty Lake, I recommend the Submachine series, by Mateusz Skutnik. I do recommend you play them in the order they released. I played all of them through my childhood.

Reminds me of Tick Tock: A Tale for Two that also uses the same no-online multiplayer system for puzzles. If you enjoyed this it seems like youd enjoy that too. It also only takes 90min to 2 hours to complete

Rusty lake is absolutely one of my most favourite game series, but you really need to make yourself immersed in the story if you want things to be interesting. It doesn't make much sense, much like its inspiration, twin peaks. But you really should know the names of characters and the timeline and the events of all the previous games to really acknowledge just how brilliant the details and the subtle storytelling in these games are.
