Glad you got the tractor out without too much trouble. I would say it was just an oops. Ethan's pride might be the only thing hurt. Hope the yield is as good as you has hoped. Hello from Springfield Missouri.

Hello from Southeastern Wisconsin. It was looking a little sketchy there for a moment with the tractor teetering on only two wheels. I was also freaking out with Kevin standing so close to the tightly torqued chain. Glad to see the situation was safely rectified without damage or injuries. Have a safe and productive work week!

My cousin's classmate from Bible School was killed in a summer accident while cutting grass along the highway in southern Alberta. (1961) The classmate was driving a tractor for the Department of Highways. In those days, roll cages were not mandatory. He drove over a culvert hidden by the tall grass. The tractor rolled and he went straight to Heaven. Ethan is blessed in that the accident could have been much worse. Kevin was concerned as well as he came over to see. Give them all a hug.

Instead of chains, have you guys looked into a heavy/long pull rope? Defnitely expensive, but after having a chain break and fly through the back window of a tractor I was in, it was well worth the purchase.

When I was a kid on farm by Newaygo. My Dad was pulling me backwards to start a 620 JD tractor, I put the clutch in to early stopped the pickup and didn’t start the tractor. So my Dad backed up the pickup to give a tug to start rolling. The chain snapped come back and wrapped around the right axle next to me. We went and bought batteries for the tractor.

We shelled our high moisture and followed with a pull type harvester with a direct cut head to harvest the stalks for heifer feed. It made acceptable feed, but it stretches manpower pretty hard.

Serious though please run your chain to several of your tires you have there at least one of your commenters mentioned that it will prevent Whiplash from the broken chain should that happen. It really works just put the tires towards the ends. Good luck God bless.
