After 1 listen, i was this album is good. After the 4th listen, this is a Classic Album. Aint NOBODY F'ING with NAS. He does it for the Love of Hip Hop. I think he will take a break, but if he drops another album before the end of the year/ Top of the year, I will be here for it. Congratulations Nas/HitBoy. Congratulations Mike and Coop

I agree 100. By the 5th listen I felt Classic!! I’m big on mixing and mastering. It hit on everything. The car, cheap earphones, house speakers 🔊 🔊. Nobody is close to Nas regarding full albums. Lil Wayne didn’t let me down either.

When the beat changes on "The Cure" that was one of the best verses on the whole series. The "Truth" was so rugged and raw, one of the best off Magic.

Your very 1st sentence, "Imagine if Jay Z had a dropped 6 classic albums back to back." I often imagine that, and to be real, in my opinion, Jay just makes better songs than Nas. I know ppl are going to say "Hits mean nothing today." But I disagree. I'm for certain, if Jay dropped 6 classic albums back to back, that would mean there's hits on those albums. Nas had good songs, but no hits at all. And let's not act like Nas doesn't make hits, but as of recently, he hasn't. Unless we Nas fans call it a hit.
@100timessquare
@100timessquare Жыл бұрын
@NICKEYBLACK35 - You actually said "HITS" when talking about a legacy artist who put out 6 albums in 3 years at 47/50 years old. You think Nas is thinking about Hits at this stage in his career? He already has the hit records, hes making music for the love, and for the respect for the art form. I remember a time when fans only cared about if the music was QUALITY/FIRE or not. NOT what the mainstream deemed a "hit". I never in life stood on a corner with REAL hip hop niggaz and somebody said..."yo that Rakim album is dope but there's no hits on it". That person would never be able to come out on the block again. So here's my advice to you....DONT COME OUT ON THE BLOCK AGAIN! You sound completely tone deaf and oblivious to what this is actually about. This is about art, not about what people are dancing to on tic toc! Get your mind right!!!
@judahisrael8241

@@NICKEYBLACK35 Well you just keep on imagining that buddy Ole pal....Cause Nas is dropping so-called hits in real time while you imagine. You speak through the mouthpiece of the commercialized music industry with the phraseology of "making hits". Nas said I feel a lot of hate since I been creating with hit.), pun intended. What you fail to realize my dwindling, ethered Jay fan, is the streets, the people, the true essence of hip hop could care less about a hit, a Grammy or what culture vultures deem as a hit. We the people spoke, the streets is watching and talking now, you know who the GOAT IS, . THATS WHY YOU ARE HERE, ISNT IT OBVIOUS, that ether got ya soul burning slow...ouch..." One thing I've been blessed with is my age because I sat in line for Illmatic in 94 and now thirty years later to hear him still at this level and getting the same Goosebumps I did that is beyond beautiful. I said in 94 he would go down as the greatest and I never once wavered from that. His discography from 2020 alone places him top five of all Time by itself. I wrote down the solo discography of anyone who could possibly be in the conversation and it's not even a conversation. 8 releases since 2012 and the only project anyone can even slightly criticize is Nasir. And he recorded that in four days LOL. Not a single released since 2020 has sounded anything alike which is absolutely staggering by itself. I listen to every one of the projects today and if someone told me they were from different artist I believe it just based on how different they are

@@jamaaldavis7907 no artist in general can put out six consecutive projects in three years nevermind the immense quality and each one sounding absolutely different than the previous. Look at his releases since 2012. The only one that can be truly scrutinized is the Nasir album and that's because of who produced it but people forget it was recorded in literally 4 days. How do you have life is good, Nasir, Kings disease 123 and Magic 123 as your last 8 releases. People don't realize how insanely difficult and rare something like that is. One thing people need to understand is the King's disease series and the Magic series are literally created and sound completely different purposely. That's why he separated them. Prime example is Magic One in King's disease part 2. Songs like ugly and the truth are for the crowd that loved the Raw and gritty Nas sound. Kings disease part two is more geared towards being well-rounded and multi-dimensional. Records like rare and brunch on Sundays would not sound proper on Magic just like ugly and WU for the children wouldn't sound like it belongs on KD 2. It was smart of him to compartmentalize the way he did. Magic 3 is simply spectacular simple and plain. I see so many reactions where they completely misinterpreted or don't understand specific references. People are struggling even following based on true events one. If people would just slow down and listen it's an easy story to follow. I think he fell back from certain storytelling aspects because people simply are struggling following some how

It will be interesting to revisit all this in a couple of years. When KD3 dropped it was instant classic and potentially a top 50 rap album but now we don’t listen to it? Magic was the return of Nasty Nas but none of the albums has bar work like Magic 3? Not as much substance on KD, KD2, KD3 and Magic? I love Magic 3 and think it’s album of the year but some of the instant reaction seems off and seems to come at the expense of the other projects.

@@stillhere6558 is Nas hurting anyone as a single man?! If he wants to date as many women as he wants he can. In the same song he mentions being a gentleman, women being safe with him, and jumping the broom again, but with that he’s waiting until the dating climate improves because women can be grimy (that’s true. Let’s not act like women don’t be out here playing men). He also was honest when the one girl asked him about who’s shirt is was in the bed and he told her it was the next girl and that he can’t be her lover. So he’s not lying and manipulating women to get what he wants. Blue Bentley is a bop to me! 🤷🏽‍♀️ If that’s just not how you choose to live your life that’s fine. You’re speaking from a religious perspective so its a preference. Nas is single, free, and can live the way he desires. If he’s not disrespecting and hurting anyone I don’t see the problem. I’m a woman and I was like Nas life sounds litty! Lmao 🤣

@@stillhere6558 he said that in reference to her own perceived expectations of him and desires, but she is also still in communication with her ex. Hence the Coi Lerey “Players” line. Essentially, she got it confused. Also, Nas has several records showing love and respect to women, and I’m sure he’s teaching his son the same. Again, he’s single/free. He can do what he wants. Just because he doesn’t subscribe to the way you think he’s supposed to live doesn’t make it wrong so I’m not sure how he’s being a hypocrite. He’s not doing anything wrong. Let that man have fun!
