This is the best explanation I’ve seen on accordion tuning. there are so many misleading videos on KZbin that is really scary. People don’t realize how easy is to damage an instrument to the point of no return. Thank you very much!!

A very big thank you for a superb presentation full of good practical information. The clever use of special home made tools is highly appreciated. Regarding the sound some systems use a processor to eliminate feedback. This processing causes any continuous sound like an instrument note to interpreted as feedback and therefore this note is immediately suppressed.

@richardrea7146 Thank you for your feedback. The noise suppression theory is making sense to some extent. Please note that Webinar software (Zoom, Teams) has settings on sound bandwidth for voice and audio. The audio enhancement setting improvement will prioritise bandwidth and allow musical notes to be played. Due to logistics on the guest location the option was not available.

@@richardrea7146 The feature is available from Zoom version 5.12x on desktop computers. The source operating system Laptop was using an ancient build. This operation system build build restricted to upgrade Zoom from 4 to 5, hence the impossibility at that time to activate the option. Hope this makes it clear. Cheers.

Such good instruction video, thanks so much! Just like to ask: whether 440 or 442 - Will that be the UNCHANGED reference frequency “ block ” to work from - (the whole block STAYS as is? The other or 2 or 3 remaining blocks are the ones we tune up or down individually - right? Again thank you for so much information - the best I have ever seen!

thanks for the webinars. most informative. Can I ask a technical question? How do you ensure a steady frequency when testing the reeds in the accordion with the Peterson app? Is it a matter of trying to work the bellows as evenly as possible? it seems sometimes difficult to nail the exact pitch that the reed is sounding at. Thanks again!

We are all a bit different at perceiving sound. The type of music matters also on the beats.

Really interesting.

Another topic I am looking for is related to “JUST” intonation which is different than equal temperament. Such small button accordions are LIMITED to 2 or 3 keys due to such tuning. Such Italian accordions seem to be more “mellow” than Hohner types. Do you think the difference is from beats or is it the make up of the reed itself or the quality?

Can you actually put “anti corrosive” on reeds ?

Hi guys,is all very interesting but the sound is terribleto listen to... guess it would be much better to recordteh sound on the source instead of recording the incoming sound with all the laency etc... it hurts musicians ears ;-)

Your feedback is really appreciated. For information purposes there are several sound sources at each webinar, at least three. Imagine when you have a new guest you need to accommodate him also with sound recording equipment wherever they are (usually in their work environment or at home). This cannot be done as a per requirement only if the location is fixed and the guests are confortable to travel.
