Once again, you have made a wonderful contribution to learning the accordion. I have no musical background, no teacher and am trying to learn to play a chromatic accordion at age 70. Your tips and techniques are so very helpful and I greatly appreciate them. There are others who also help greatly with no personal gain and all of you are to be congratulated for what you do. Regards, Joe

What an Excellent Demo of hands co-ordination. I am highly inspired. I play Saxophone as a Professional but play Key Board a little. With your, this demo is motivated to play the accordion. Let me try for a standard accordion. can you guide me on how many keys of Accordion I have to buy. It's available in various key combinations & Bass buttons. I know HOHNER is Numero Uno in accordions.
@moshezuchter3 жыл бұрын
So, 72 bass buttons on the left hand is what I recommend as a minimum. It will let you play in all of the keys. I have a few other videos with tips on buying a used accordion on my channel. Thanks for the feedback!

Can you demonstrate how to play cord progressions
@moshezuchter Жыл бұрын
Sure, which chord progressions? Chord progressions are playing chords in a row. So, 99% of songs have chord progressions. Dm to Gm is a chord progression. So is C to F to G, etc. Let me know

Hey Moshe! First, thanks for the videos. You do a good job explaining techniques. This is a very important video for people learning the accordion. This instrument is like rubbing your belly and tapping your head at the same time. It takes a lot of practice to get the muscle memory down to play something new. Before I learn a song I end up writing a simpler song just to practice techniques. Anyways I was wondering what your experience was with playing live? I've only been playing for a year (practicing often), but I have yet come up with a good way to amplify the instrument. Usually playing in tight bars and (not concert halls...) conducive for creating feedback. I notice that you have many accordions, I was wondering if you've ever used one that has a 1/4" output? Or if you ever play live... do you have any tips? Thanks man,

I play a some piano - so the piano keyboard comes natural. I am having a challenge navigating the bass chord buttons (5x12). Only have the detent marker on the C. e.g. I'm playing a song that goes Bm-D-E-A. Are there "caps" to buy to feel more markers on the buttons since I can't see them ? Or how do you develop that left hand blind navigation ?
@moshezuchter8 жыл бұрын
It really is practice, practice, practice. Start slowly, build up that muscle memory of your left hand fingers jumping from chord to chord. I've made a few videos about left hand proficiency. Let me know if you have any questions

Hi, thanx for your tutorial's. I have a question/problem. Maybe its my lack of experience, but i guess you know this particular problem. When i play bass notes, and i want for example switch from b# to c (long 'distance's), the accordeon kind of hangs on my arms, i have to stabilize the accordeon before i can slide my left hand 'down'. Its hard to explain my question, but i have difficulties (sometimes) to travel longer distance, sometimes i have to 'pause for a moment' , re-establish my left hand/redistribute the weight of the accordeon en then it goes fine.. Do you know how to 'fix' the problem?

Oh i guess i found the answer in your other video about big jumps.. I'll try that!:)

Hi! Let's say that i will practice this coordination 30 minutes per day. How long it will take until i will succeed to complete the song? I have only one day and it seems very hard ...
@moshezuchter6 жыл бұрын
Hi Marian, it depends. Practise a little bit every day and it should come soon... A few weeks to a few months. A day is the beginning. Give your mind and body time to absorb and digest this new connection between hands and mind

I can’t coordinate both hands and also I cannot hit the bass notes without looking. I’ve been playing the bass guitar for almost 20 years and I think this is causing me troubles. My brain can’t process... On the bass you normally play the same thing with both hands. Any ideas?

It's in terms of co-ordination with the hands. The music sounds right but the hands struggle at first because of the difficulty in getting them to do things which operate within different rhythms.
