Commissioner Henry discusses tactics to tackle hate crime with Nottinghamshire Police Chief
A Chief Inspector of Nottinghamshire Police says the force is cracking down on hate crime by further developing an enhanced victim service, engaging directly with diverse communities while aiming to improve positive outcomes and out of court disposals to change offender behaviour.
A presentation was given on how Nottinghamshire Police are adapting to the digital age and are implementing new technologies to keep the people of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire safe online.
A large part of Commissioner Henry’s role is to hold Nottinghamshire Police to account and ensure an effective policing service is being delivered for the people of the county and ensuring the public’s voice is being heard.
Each month, Commissioner Henry holds an Accountability Board meeting with the Chief Constable to discuss a range of topics relating to key performance indicators for Nottinghamshire Police and uses this time to ensure time and resources are being used efficiently and effectively.
This month we invited the public to submit their questions and concerns on policing the digital beat crime, which were addressed by Nottinghamshire Police Chief Constable Kate Meynell and Chief Inspector James Walker, the force’s hate crime tactical lead.
