On the Accounting equation, shouldn't the asset be on the left side while the liabilities on the right? In accordance with the rules of a balance sheet.

I get lost at question 5... we subtract the £2500 from the capital for the rent paid and outstanding rent?? but in question 1 the rent does not affect the capital understandably as I get that it decreases the cash and adds rent paid in advance. It's the subtracting the rent paid from the capital account that confuses me... is that subtracted from the capital account because there will not be too sides of the accounting equation I.e any assets gained from paying the rent? sadie simpson in Q1 rent paid in adv is the asset for us not expense becuse we have paid rent in adv and in Q5 it has rent paid and O/S rent which is expense for us. i hope u got the ans.. :)
