I wanted to startup an accounting firm. The activities I wanted to add to the firm is: audit/bookkeeping/tax. But the department that issues the license said you can’t combine audit with bookkeeping, you have to choose one! Is it the same in US? Is there anyway I can convince them! Because I feel I’m being crippled before starting the business!

I mean it makes sense because it would be conflict of interest if you do the bookkeeping for business “A” and audit the books for bus “A” per the Sarbanes Ox Act

I’m a CPA in the U.S. and it’s generally the same. In order to provide audit/assurance services, you have to be independent of the accounting/bookkeeping process. You can’t effectively audit the work performed by you or a team of people you manage.

So long as the IRS still comes at PEOPLE, Businesses and their owners, a market will exist to ensure compliance. The truth is that the AICPA, and other accounting/lawyer lobbying groups have worked for decades to ensure that they are protected. So yes - it will stay important. BUT - just like farming, it will become far more abundant, much less menial, and significantly less labor intensive. Farming by hand - Farming with steam - Farming with diesel - farming with Hydraulics - Farming with Chips - farming with gps - farming with AI and GPS..... the progress in all activity is similar.

Each state is different. You want to look up which state requires licensing and professional qualifications to legally and professionally prepare and file taxes. The requirements for bookkeeping quite simple. Legally doing any business in the United States, is a different issue. Filing a business in a state is another

@@FeedbackWrench H&R Block is scale, not expertise. If they can do your return, you can do your return. Replacing their current employees with AI is not the blow to CPAs that it sounds like. It's basically just taking away some substitute teacher's second job. That's who they hire around here at least.

I caution anyone against this guy. As he explained himself, he’s a marketing guy and he doesn’t like the weeds. You spent 19 mins in this video basically saying nothing about how you started. All you did was use buzzwords like “value added”, “opportunities”, “save money”, “investments”, “book 1, 2, 3”, “random name of a famous person”. This is how snakes are made. This guy sells hope and then markets to ignorant folks so that they spend money with him.

Nice, I'm getting some hate! I currently sell websites with copywriting, paid ads setups, and content based SEO. I sell a course for $500 that I would return the money if you didn't think it was worth it. My course is 24 pieces of SALES TRAINING (the thing most accountants suck at( It is sales training & shows people how to do the entrepreneur side of the accounting firm. Go look at our portfolio, I share it all, I'm not selling snake oil, I'm sellign websites and ads. I make this content because I started and grew Nuance Financial out of Lakeville MN. Also, those books are gold. Value is EVERYTHING, not a buzz word. Connecting with people, identifying what's valuable to them, and connecting your business value proposition to their core problem is the basics of sales and all those things you said were buzz words need to sink into your being a bit more and you should probably work on applying them. Those books - Sandy Botkin, Wheelwrigt, Mark Kohler etc are the foremost experts on simple tax planning - I'm literally equipping you to go and become an expert...... FLow - I hope nothing but the best for you, but I assure you, I'm not selling snake oil. I am not telling anyone something that's pie in the sky either, I can list out 30 accountant clients right now that have implemented the outsourced accounting VALUE approach and built amazing businesses. I sell websites with copywriting, google ads with remarketing ads, and content based SEO service. GO look at our work and see my customers stuff first hand.

lol - yeah. Literally ran 400+ meetings, started the company, did everything but the tax returns and accounting. I mean - I left / we parted like 2.5 years into it and I only claim the results that I personally got. The sales I landed myself, I did all the prospecting and did it. Love the cynicism - the guru land is definitely full of people who have done nothing. I actually introduced them and got every client for two years (150 business owners)
