Your knowledge has been very helpful. I hope this works out for me. I have an out of pocket spine surgery $58000. Catastrophic and personal loan to be paid back, plus savings and 401k portion to make it happen. Medicare will not cover. I cannot drive, cannot walk or stand for more than 2 minutes. Must be in a wheel chair. In network neurosurgeon said he could not help me and my problems with lumbar spine have nothing to do with pain and heavy legs. We have property tax, insurance and interest to add to the $58000. This would be a major tax deduction. We are in the 12% tax bracket . Can you advise if I am thinking correctly. Spine Institute is out of network. Medicare advantage plan PPO only wants you to have drugs, shots and physical therapy.
