Accurascale Ruston 88DS Sound Recording

The Ruston 88DS project is progressing well. We recently we visited the Colne Valley Railway to visit Ollie and his Ruston. With our friends at Hornby Magazine and Jamie Goodman we put the loco through its paces to record a brand new sound project.

This is so cool. Sound recording isn’t something I’ve done a lot of, but whatever I’ve been dabbling in has been super fun and interesting. Being in America, there’s one thing I wish could be done, and that’s the Doppler effect of when you’re standing by a train when it’s sounding its horn. We have our really long and loud horn here, and it always has a Doppler sound to it when it passes at the crossing. I wish this could be replicated.

I'm intrigued how you got a full orchestra and a Grand Piano into that brake van! 🙂 - - and it's a good job Ollie's Ruston didn't do the usual model railway when you point a camera at it trick - and derail itself!

Can you please have an XC and Blue Pullman HST in your first release. Hornby didn't produce near enough of them and their model is also quite dated with horrible mould lines around the cab.

You’ll be needing Paxman Valenta surely? Start from the first service blue/grey versions with all varieties of MK3a and HST versions. Especially looking forward to creating a new 1980’s spec cross country set with 1x1st class a TRSB 4x2nd Class and a TGS. 😉 😂

One day I genuinely hope you’ll do a suite of Class 08-based models, with a few 13s in there. There others on the market are ok, but you’d make it in the usual inimitable style and because everyone loves the good old gronk, you’d make a slaying…. Please give it a thought or two :)

Again with teasing a HST. I hope its another 7mm project, given 00 and TT you'd be duplicating Hornby's recent toolings, and N you'd be duplicating the Dapol one.

OO, TT, n gauge do not need another hst, what’s out there are good models, hornby’s retool is very good.

@@Jonnyuk365 but 1 it cost a lot 2 it's only the two ends 3 accurascale would do it better 4 if you want a 5 car set 2 coaches cost upwards of £50
