Thank you for this really thorough tutorial in using a marker float, really appreciate it. I just purchased one now as I"M bank fishing a lot and never know what the lake bottom looks like, so with your help I'll be able to start working my way around this with the marker float next time I go fishing. If u cant walk out your line (small swim). Use 2 banksticks on lets say 1m out of eachother. Then hookup your marker float to 1 bankstick and put your reel on auto release. Then wind your line out until you hit your marked line (in this case in the video the electric tape). Then take your spod or cast rod. And do the same until you are at the same lenght :)

Get yourself a pair of either Korda or Avid Yard sticks. Both are excellent. Walking around placing rods on the floor for distance marking is ridiculous. risking standing on the rods also lines getting snagged on the floor. No need for a mono leader either. Quality braid all the way. Friction. What friction? LOL
