I subscribed to the New York Times yesterday. That newspaper is no joke about vocabulary. I have not made it to a single section because I am constantly looking for words and expressions in the dictionary. Most of the terms I don't know their meanings in either English or the translation into my native language, Spanish, so I have been using an English and a Spanish dictionary.

dear Lisa, thanks a lot for the outstanding job you do. I have a request, can you make a video with people's real life? The people professionals in the Hotel field. As a receptionist. I start work in this field and would like to grow to be more confident with my expression with the guest, in case of a conflict or misunderstanding, etc. In which form I should ask the guest for payment or explain that they do not need to care of it because most in our Aparthotel staying business people for the long term or even big companies settle a contract with our Aparthotel that their people can stay short term by paying themselves. My question is if you can make such a video with the specific expression, I would be in seven clouds. lol, forward to seeing you soon. greetings from Germany-Cologne

I work in a school as a teacher and there has been a lot of turnover at the school for a two- year stretch because the current wages for the teaching profession does not sizzle with new teachers and forced them to quit. Also The steep cost of living have turned the tables and created a frenzied situation among head teachers. The soaring prices of fuel and food made long commutes unendurable for the teachers and fo. After the prices of everything went through the roof, the teachers decided to make a career change. The schools are trying to sweeten up the deal but the world’s current economic climate is driving the prices up and nothing is dying down.

Thanks, dear Lisa, for another interesting topic, new practical words and opportunity to train, repeating after native speaker. It is important to express yourself on various world event topics emerging constantly. Recently, I rewatched the videos with Hollywood actors Anita, Yasmine Al Massri, Ego Mikitas and Anna Oris. Things I didn't understand reading "Mastering The American Accent" became transparent. For example, I saw Meryl Streep "mother" pronunciation with final /ɘr/sound, which I before pronounced like schwa sound. Anita completely transformed her accent is a role model of persistency, consistency and work by yourself to achieve neutral accent. In terms Yasmine Al Massri I saw stress placement changed the meaning through emotionality became rational. Ego Mikitas modified the strong Russian accent, correcting several sounds and stress placement. Small things make big differences... If you repeated at least 40-50 times) Thanks a lot for your great job, fabulous Lisa!

Good day. I am a regular follower of your American English classes. In today's video on NYT, I was a bit confused about using of Turnover at first instance... Less turnover would have the meaning of less Revenue or Sale of a company. Turnover is used to mean total sale of a company as well. I thought that "turnover rate" is used when the meaning is leaving employees more frequently... Please clarify if you have something more about it. It is always worth watching your English teaching videos. Kudos...
