Very interesting point about how we should be aware about of the pronunciation of a second syllable in a word, in this case "a" and "o" sound exactly the same!. As Spanish speakers we tend to give different pronunciation depending on the letter no matter if the syllable is stressed or not, but learning these rules make us comprehend deeper, i love it!

Interesting! I never heard the term “binge-watching” before. In fact, I think I’ve neve heard the word binge. At least, I can’t remember. So, in Brazil, people very often use the word “maratona” = “marathon” when talking about watching various episodes of tv shows or movies in one day. They turn the noun “marathon” into a verb “marathonize” when talking about the action of going through movies, shows or even books in a row. Now I know that in English that would be “binge-watching”.

Hi, Ms Lisa! I was wondering: Have you ever made a video sharing your pragmatic/objective views on English proficiency exams such as IELTS and CELPIP? Have you done it? Are their formats, themes and evaluation process proper enough to determine one’s language skills in your opinion? Would you add anything to them or subtract anything from them, if you could? I’ve done CELPIP twice without preparing for it. My score went up 2 points on the second one. And both test results share something in common; my writing skill is better than all the other ones which got equal amount of points (score). I expected my writing to score higher than the other ones and I expected my reading to be better than my listening (a little bit of hearing loss) and my speaking (it takes me too long to brainstorm) but it didn’t happen that way. I’ll try the exam once again next year and I’ll try to prepare myself better for it. I guess I’ll have to take a look at your materials to get some inspiration and knowledge. ☺️
