Accused drunk driver charged in deadly LI nail salon crash

Good point. I am 60. Now, unless I do a huge amount of aging in the next four years, I don't think I will look anything like this guy. You said it. It is more about what you don't do. I don't drink, smoke, use drugs, I exercise every day, and I always held jobs where I am on my feet and picking up things all day long. I guess that all helps. Peace.

I got pulled over by MA State Police for a "marked lane violation" (in a rotary with no marked lanes). This was about 30 minutes after leaving a friend's son 21st B-Day. I had 2 beers over 90 minutes with some chicken wings and garlic bread. I had 1 shot of Southern Comfort right as I was saying congratz,goodbye and heading home. Because I refused to take a road side test they arrested me for DUI. When I got to the barracks I blew a .09. They hit me with the full force of a first offense DUI. ($1,000 fine+6 month License Suspension+the cost to have my license reinstated and the hit on my car insurance) Come to find out 5 years later MSP never calibrated the equipment they used to test me and I could fight my DUI. That where I am today... If I was $h!tfaced drunk and driving my car...I wouldn't fight this and move on. But I am fighting it because I know better than to drive drunk, having watched my father do it with us in the car.

The "not guilty" plea is exactly that, a plea. Now the prosecution needs to prove its case (which should not be too difficult).

Not guilty plea is roughly equivalent to INSULTING SOCIETY's INTELLIGENCE!!! If he is remorseful, or would have been remorseful, it would have been a lot more helpful to his sentence. Good for you! There are no benefits to alcohol. Studies keep showing negative impacts on health. I've tried a sip of alcohol here and there and all of it just burns like cough syrup, it tastes horrible, it's expensive, it's high in calories, you don't know how it will affect you, etc. And you can have lots of fun without it (while other people around you become increasingly less fun as the alcohol impacts them).
