Get rid of the adaptor and put a short socket on it. You’re robbing power from it.

Ok so I understand your trying to review this however they make 3/8" impact sockets and by adding an adapter like the one your using it robs gun of about 20% of its torque

It probably causes some loss, but it's not that drastic. Either way this impact is underperforming. The compact HF impact driver mentioned in the video is more powerful even having to drive sockets through a 1/4" adapter. It's really a shame they discontinued that one. It was a nice tool...

No it actually is that drastic even on the high end impacts and Especially on a weaker d.i.y impact like this one. The joint loss between the anvil/adapter connection and adapte/socket connection plus the added weight of not only the wrong drive impact socket but a deep well at that with a wider rotational diameter to defeat put this little gun at a valid disadvantage from the start.

Torque Test Channel put out a video last week where they showed a 27% loss on a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter, so yeah assuming the same loss this impact was putting out right at it's claimed 90ftlbs of torque, at least in reverse. After using it quite a bit, I still feel "meh" about it. In contrast their brushless ratchet is a joy to use.

While most are disappointed, I love it. I use to to disassemble interior pieces and the small size along with gentle power of it keeps my job safe and time efficien.

The adapter is killing the torque output. I bought the whole acdelco g12 line and I absolutely love them. They're dirt cheap and do their job well. Working on machinery all day the 3/8 impact, 1/4 impact driver, and 3/8 ratchet they've been great and have worked with alot of abuse for years. I also have a line of dewalt 20v tools and a Milwaukee fuel 3/8 impact. Its nice to have a light weight tool to use on smaller fasteners. Im going to buy another set for home use since the work stuff is covered in grease. The old earthquake xt 12v line from harbor freight and durofix g12 all use the same batteries.

There is a trick for this. When you hold socket by hand to prevent backslash, any impact work much better.

Interesting tip. Thank you.

Agreed. Takes up any slop through the adapter an all.

I use it in a professional setting mainly to remove the fasteners that hold the splash guard or skid plates under a car or truck Or the plastic lug nuts wheel covers Great video

Good to hear these tools hold up in a professional setting.

That fastener on the socket probably reduces the torque

I got the version of this with the hex collet, makes for a better tool in that configuration. See if ac delco can send you the hex collet anvil. I got it for more delicate work and smaller fasteners. Originally I bought the Bauer impact driver which is a beast. Literally could remove lug nuts with that thing lol. I kept breaking shit with it so i got this one. Harbor freight uses the same motor on their impact driver as they do the impact wrenches in that line up. Same case here where the wrenches are lame. And that electric ratchet i used professionally for a little over a year, no problems so far, it's a tank for the price.

That's good to hear. Yeah, it would definitely be more useful as just an impact driver.

WHEN YOU ADDED THE ADAPTER AND SOKET IT TOOK A GOOD 20LBS AWAY IF YOU USE A GOOD 3/8 SOCKET YOU MIGHT GET THE 90LBS

You loose quite a bit of torque with an adapter it might do 90 with just a socket... In fact I bet it will with a fresh charge battery
@jeffreys7049162 жыл бұрын
This use the same battery as the harbor freight earthquake rachet and polisher?
@BookAutowerks2 жыл бұрын
yeah
@tjtiger2183 Жыл бұрын
Well first of all your using an adapter and a long socket, your gonna lose torque alone with that
@AH6man Жыл бұрын
Sizing up to half inch from 3/8 is about 1/4 power loss.

Losing power through your adaptor

Sometimes you need less power especially with all the plastic on modern cars.
