That latch goes on the inside of the door. The big hole is where the door knob goes threw, It is a very old one. Congrats on the holed IHP they were both sweet.

Nice! I had been told once by someone (can’t remember who) that holes in coins sometimes indicate children or slaves (underground railroad) who wore them like a necklace or they were sewed into clothing so as not to lose the coins, or keep them hidden until such a time that the coin(s) is/was needed. Not sure if this would hold true, but it makes for an interesting thought about your coin. Congratulations on the 2 Indian Head pennies! Bucket listers for me. 😁 The daffodils, and hyacinths were gorgeous! It is so nice to see spring! 🥰

Men's pant pockets didn't emerge until 1900. Before that a small pocket was sewn into the waist or seam with a slit in the garment to access the pocket. Before that a pocket was sewn on a belt in which it hung on the outside of men's & women's clothing. When holes were worn into a pocket they would put change on a string and wear it around their neck. Your info is very cool too. Thanks for watching & the information

Woohoo Deej...I like the holed Indian , thats one of my bucket listers (a holed coin). I love Indian heads they are really cool to find and they really help you date a site better. My field of dreams I am currently detecting has given up 3 so far and 2 dog tags (1918 and 1920). Love the video and thanks for sharing it! Take care and happy hunting!! :)
