Ace Analyst: Breezies and the Night Market

An aspect I really did touch on in my major reviews was the Night Market. On the surface, it's a cool idea but in execution it makes no sense.

I'm still vexxed about them writing Breezie language to actually just be speed up, and easily translated, completely undermining Hitch and his communication magic.

I’m sure the makers think kids don’t think about what I’d possible and makes sense… but they should! That was what makes FiM so good for kids. It was made from a adult logic and so it worked out for season!

The night market only exist to be used a plot device. You could replace the Breezies with any other species in Equestria and it wouldn’t affect the story in any way. They only added them in for nostalgia.

Seriously, HOW is an object specifying from G1 just sitting around in the Night Market? How could Megan come to Equestria when it isn't the same world as Ponyland? WHY would Megan have come to Equestria just to leave the locket containing the Rainbow of Light in the Market instead of giving it to literally ANY of the Alicorn princesses? Yes, dimensional travel IS possible in G4, but that kind of Dimensional travel would require a HUGE amount of explanation for reasoning and possibility. Things that would require delicate, careful planning to properly explain that is far too difficult for G5 to pull off, so they shoot themselves in the hoof either way

If they wanted the Breezies' language to be just a sped up version of the ponies' language, then shouldn't their normal-sounding lines just be sped up? I don't think "sped up" should sound like another language. You should still be able to pick up some of what's being said.

Makes sense they live inside a tree in a forest, less breeze for the breezies and it's more of a magical flea market. They can open whenever they please, otherwise they will be dead broke.

Sometimes I feel like they wrote 8 different versions of the whole script for Make Your Mark, then the final product pulled each scene from a different version of the script at random. 5:45 it's actually the same breezy, apparently. A Spanish channel was theorizing that maybe that wasn't a breezy at all, but someone disguised as a breezy to help the main characters. But we don't know of anyone who is able to both turn into a breezy and speak the breezy language, and this show isn't smart enough to have that kind of twist anyway.

they really could have just made the protagonists go into the breezie realm. as we see with twilight, a talented unicorn should be able to turn themself and a few others into breezies for travel into the relm, where they canonically exist in abundance at all times and can fly freely. these sorts of things are why i refuse to acknowledge G5 as canon and desperately want G6 to retcon this.

Hold it! Your statement about the Dragon print has a glaring error, need to be addressed. The print is not a cast but a Fossil. The biggest evidence for that is the effect it has on Spiky. If it was just a cast, it wouldn't have had the magical properties associated with the Dragon Lands. Furthermore, it would have been a negative. With this, it's possible to assume that a pony found it while travelling the Dragon Lands, took it with him and than sold it at the Night Market. Or even that the Dragons have visited the Night Market (before the whole thing with Opaline).

I still argue that evolution might explain why the breezies and dragons are different, but the breezies' downgraded communication doesn't add up.

I really need to learn to stop coming back to this channel if I’m only going to watch videos like this. Regardless: 2:16 I’m no linguist, but I fail to see how the G5 breezes speak is a “retcon” of their language. It’s their own way of speaking that’s similar yet different to pony language. And since old Equestria didn’t have phones to slow down the talk, it makes sense that ponies wouldn’t pick it up and see it as completely foreign. Also, I don’t know if I mentioned this yet, and if I did I apologize for repeating myself, but have you considered that this is a different time line to the main G4 story? Would explain things and I don’t know why G5 unthusiests would want to disagree with this notion.

In my opinion, the G5 Breezes make more sense. The G4 breezes made no sense because there was no way they could have existed without the help of the ponies. That migration had the potential to wipe them out. As for the language... how many years has it been? I'll give them a pass. The idea that they've adopted a faster version of pony language is entirely possible. A market that opens when they feel like it... Hello, small-town antique store/boutique. G5 Breezes are plot monkeys because the writers are lazy. That Dragon print is not a mold, if it was it'd be a negative of the print. It's a petrosomatoglyph, a footprint in sediment that is so old it has turned to stone.

Even if it makes more sense to you, that doesn’t explain the out of nowhere changes. Also, yes, the breezies didn’t fit in with our main ponies in G4, but that’s because it wasn’t their world that was way smaller. And you can’t use the “passage of time” excuse anymore as Elder Flower was stated to be Moondancer’s (a friend of Twilight’s) great great great aunt. That’s only around five generations of ponies, aka, only around a hundred to two hundred years.

@@nhansen197 I thought and hoped it was long after G4, but as I mentioned with the timeline they gave us with Elder Flower, they didn’t seem to care about making G5 at least somewhat consistent to G4.
