I'd say comparing SK to HK is like comparing Bugs Bunny to Goku. One is strong in a nonsensical cartoony way and Hollow Knight's way of fighting and power is more "grounded" kind of like in an anime. So at the end of the day both are incredibly powerful, just with the right context

The Vessel doesn’t need to send Shovel Knight to the Dream Realm, nor could do it. Also, they forgot to mention that the Dream Nail can also allow the Vessel to fight and ‘take the essence’(Edited) of GHOSTS. Meaning that, theoretically, since the Phase Locket uses ghostly power to turn Shovel Knight into a sort of ghostly form, it could technically be countered by the Dream Nail, since it allows the Vessel to hone in on any spirit to fight and kill them. (Edit): My previous belief while writing my original comment was that since the Dream nail essentially enables the Knight to fight ghosts, it should be able to prevent Shovel Knight from phasing out or being untouchable whilst phased out. Since the Knight is able to challenge Dream Warriors without even using the Dream nail in combat(only just having it on its person), that means that the Dream nail doesn’t just “non-exist” ghosts: it binds spirits to the physical realm so the Knight can fight them and take their essence. Since Shovel Knight is already a physical living being that can use the Locket to phase out, that means the Dream nail just prevents the Phase Locket from working as their abilities just counter each other: The Phase Locket enables the user to phase out like a ghost, and the Dream nail anchors them to the physical world. Thus, Shovel Knights ability becomes less functional to use in combat as the Knight can hit SK while he’s a ghost, or the Phase Locket just stops working altogether.

adding on to this, and to edgeworth's time travel statements, one of the lore tablets in the Kings workshop states that void has the capability to *Deny Time.* and considering confessor JiJi knows of, talks about, interacts with, and *Summons* your shade for you, which is spawned upon dying, and that the Colosseum of fools Captures and Contains your shade in a room off to the side, it's very possible and likely that the knight has a form of Immortality/time travel respawn (but only to the last bench he sat on)

You said that Vessel can kill ghosts, and by that I assume you mean the siblings in the abyss, but those are void. Actual ghosts like the ones at the resting place can only be killed using the dream nail.

Dream Warriors could be considered ghosts but they aren’t able to be insta-killed by the Dream Nail. Also, the Knight can only regain soul if they directly hit the target. Things such as the opponents shell are organic and, therefore, would regain soul. However, battle against Failed Champion shows that if they are wearing armour, the Knight is unable to regain soul. That would render them unable to heal or use their void-enhanced spells. That would leave them with only nail arts and charms as a viable offence.

The Vessel is arguably light speed as the radiance can be interpreted as a being of pure light and as such, shoots beams of light in the game. The Vessel arguably has more experience as every boss in the game has a unique fighting style so the Vessel is more accustomed to more style of fighting compared to Shovel Knight. We can factor out Charms as making a winner from charms would be just a back and forth. The Vessel’s durability is no joke, they can take hits made from pure light, take hits from bugs that were so fat that they could crush right through stone, can take slashes, stabs and cuts from Hornet and the True Vessel, flame resistance (not immunity as they still take damage from fire it’s just that they aren’t completely burnt to a crisp) and probably more. Spells here are hard as there are no real feats for them but it can be gathered that they do physical damage as they are able to move and break objects. Now Healing is pretty good as they can constantly recover over and over again when having the chance.

Honestly I don't get where the "force Shovel Knight into the dream world for easy win" idea came from. For one, I can't think of any instance where the Vessel can force it's way into the dream of an active opponent. It's only ever performed on sleeping or incapacitated foes. All other times, it grants insight into the thoughts of who it's used on. Probably the only exception is the Godseeker that the Vessel accesses Godhome through, but that had to be done initially when the godseeker was sleeping, and all subsequent entries were likely from the Vessel being allowed in. So unless I'm forgetting something really blatant, I don't see how this could be an option? Not to mention that in almost every case, beings inside a dream world are shown to be stronger than their real life counter parts. Since I've never played Shovel Knight, I dunno how this would apply to him, but unless it was that hard to adapt to the environment, the only advantage the dream world would serve is that the Vessel couldn't be killed there. But based on all the logic in the game, the Vessel couldn't even enter the Shovel Knight's dream without incapacitating him in some way, so the point feels rather moot to begin with. I love hollow knight and honestly think there are lots of advantages the Vessel would have that were never touched on, like obtaining soul energy during fights and other stuff people have mentioned. I just don't think "Dream World fight GG" is one of them

This puts the whole "dream world" scape off the table a tad bit. However, this was definitely fun to watch.

There are important notes in HKs favor: - The Dream Nail allows him to hit any enemy, even ghosts. - His spells are pretty strong, covering a lot of area and possibly hitting multiple times. - He can heal. - He can recover his mana by hitting. - If he dies, he returns, only missing his money. He is basically immortal, death is more like a KO. - There are many great charms you can equip. - HK has killed all bosses on steroids in a row hitless. - Grimm has destroyed entire civilisations, and HK defeated him. - HK has survived everything SK has to show from what is said in this video: Different types of explosions. Knights with armor, which weak points need to be exploited. Trained warriors. Ghosts. I really don't see what SK has to beat an immortal creature that can beat anything if it has enough time. Even if he doesn't do it on the 1st try, at some point he will simply be hurt enough to die

@@emailzack2177 There’s a Team Cherry post made online somewhere that stated that Hornet could strike an enemy with her needle at 30 yards. Whether that’s bullshit or not, don’t take it for granted, but if Hornet was say, 3 centimeters tall, then that’s one hell of a shot. Also, there was a post on Reddit by someone who did the math, and concluded that Hornet was maybe 2 inches tall, based on her longest shot being in the Black Egg Temple. So, yeah, Hollow Knight is not very set with specific heights or sizes. If you want to find the specific post, just look up the size of the Knight, and look for a Reddit thread dedicated to Hornets toss. I don’t know if it’s still there, but it explains more.

As someone who has played both games. The Vessel wins with some difficulties because of one reason: Most of Shovel's attacks are parryable. Most can be reflected (like the coin or the anchor) or cancelled (like the fireballs or direct usage of the shovel), and there's no proof that soul spells can be blocked in some way. Plus, even if Shovel damaged the Vessel, charms like thorns if agony, Baldur's shell or even quick heal can give the , give back, cancel or reverse it quickly, and there's... Uhh... Look, I can't remember the name, but the Vessel has a charm that allows them to phase through the enemies while also making damage (they can go through the enemies without suffering damage thanks to the shadow cloak but they don't damage the enemy unless they have the charm equipped). To be fair, Shovel has the trouple chalices, which can totally heal him and restore his magic, so he wouldn't go down easily. Still, the Vessel wins, but the fight would be long and painful

a slight misconception correction: Zeus is not a creator deity, chaos is, who made a bunch of primordial gods including Gaia, the earth, who the made herself an equal and opposite in Ouranos, the sky. they then had children, which included the titans, and then Ouranos was being a jerk, so the youngest, Chronos, we'll say... severely wounded Ouranos, then Ouranos named them titans, then Chronos had 7 children, Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus. so no, Zeus is not a creator deity Edit: of course, as soon as i say this and hit unpause, you address that issue...

To be even more scrupulous, Kaos didn't actually create anything, the five primordials merely "came out" of it. If we consider that Erebos and Nyx together only had two children while Tartaros and Gaea only made a monster, against the many abstract and geographical personifications that Nyx and Gaea respectivley created by themselves, it's probably the latter two the ones more resembling "creator gods" in Greek Mythology, although worship-wise they weren't considered as such at all.

As much as i love my shovelchad, The Knight just goes at it in a manner that shovel knight can't really deal with. All the enemies that are faster than heim he can het because they're arrogant or predictable, wich The Knight is neither. A drawn out conflict would also be in TK's favour, since he can heal way more often and with better consistency. And his attacks, both in speed and... directionability? are better than SK's. Shovel has better destructive and resistance feats for sure, but The Knight is way faster, more agile, has a much more varied arsenal with his spells and charms AND is used to fighting against foes that have both shovel knight's advantages AND his own repertoire of bullshit (except charms) on the regular. TLDR; The Knight is faster, more skilled and can deal with a drawn out conflict better, while Shovel's only real advantage are his strength and toughness. Same thing for the meem in the first video with Hornet vs Shield knight, only Hornet is technically stronger than his little bro in exchange for arsenal size.

I know I must be late for this, but I feel like I should clarify some things that were said about the knight. I've seen a lot of people using Shade Lord as an argument for this, but The Shade Lord is not an ability that the Knight can use, nor is it it's "True form". The Shade lord is basically unified void that was ascended through Godseeker's attunement, meaning it's a whole different entity with specific requirements to summon it. Second, the dream nail cannnot put anyone to sleep and it can't kill a person in the dream realm. The dream nail is used to INVADE dreams and not create them. That's why we can only enter the dream realms of sleeping or already dead bugs. Also, dream nailing Shovel Knight while in phase locket will not instantly kill him, because dream nail can only interact with dream essense. The one that phase locket does not consist of. Personally for me, I think the tie here is pretty reasonable

Also, the whole immortality thing is probably not canon. There's no dark souls-esque lore explanation on how and where does the Knight get a whole new shade and shell and why does it happen at a bench. Many even consider steel soul a more canon mode of the game

OBJECTION! The Dream nail CAN kill people in Dreams, when beating pantheon 5 after killing radiance the infection disappears from the real world. Also the charm Void Heart makes it so you have “control” over the void, you can instantly absorb your shade and siblings don’t attack you, what’s to say the knight wasn’t using the void heart charm during the last fight? The charm can’t be unequipped meaning it’s apart of the knight now making it one of the knights abilities

Considering that Radiance is literally the God of dreams and has no physical form, we can assume that the radiance in the dream realm is the real radiance and not it's dream variant like the others. Which is why her infection disappears after she is killed. Now with the void heart. It is said that it "Unifies the void under the bearer's will", but I don't think that it lets the Knight control it. The Void still acts independently of the Knight. Kingsmoulds, Wingsmoulds and the Collector are a living proof of that. The Knight rather, influences it to do something, like lead it into the dream realm. Tbh, It doesn't even really matter as we still have to include the Godseekers into this to bring in the Shade Lord. And after that it would more likely be a Shovel Knight vs Shade Lord discussion. Also if by that you were trying to say that the Knight would be able to bring in the void or shades into this fight, then it would be fair for SK to call in the other knights too.

This means right now it's ~1:30PM. 16:57 When Edgeworth says "extended", he's means "extended from Part 1". When he says "4 hours", it's in reference to how Part 1 was 4 hours long in real time. So in its entirety, he means "...in fear of extending the versus as a whole by another 4 hours, making it an 8 hour debate in total." He does not mean "extend by 4 hours from this point in time". He probably could have worded it better lol. 31:30 Bonus!: The debate finally ends at 2:30PM, meaning that yes, Part 2 has also taken about 4 hours to complete in real time.
