I’ve been on this run a few times but the peak was back in the early 2000’s (I think 2002 or 2003) when I’ve never seen so many bikes on the road at the same time, totally awesome as we owned the road and cars just moved over to let us pass. I’ll never forget that day (perfect riding conditions) and doubt if it can be repeated as good as that ever again.

Took until the 17th minute to actually see a bike! and most of the ones on the run seemed to be Harley or Japanese? Didn't see many Older British bikes at all??

Sorry about that but there was a lack of classic british bikes on the run will hopefully one day get to the vintage run, remember it's not only the bikes it's also about the people who ride.

Very few real enthusiasts go to the Ace Cafe as it a sad, plastic version of the cafe it was. Run by an ex copper, enough said.

@@PurityVendetta Without the ex copper and his business associates resurrecting the Ace Cafe the site would most probably be a block of flats inhabited by asylum seekers and immigrants. The place is an iconic piece of British motorcycle and Rocker history. I stand to be corrected, but I believe it is the only cafe of its kind from the old days that is still in existence. It deserves to be regarded as such and supported by the motorcycle and Rocker community.

@@richardhalsey6049 It is not the only cafe of it's kind. If you actually bothered to take the Londoncentric blinkers of you'd at least know about Jack's Hill and others. If you seriously think the current Ace Café has anything to do with it's former incarnation you can't have understood the reality. Still, if you kid yourself that overpriced drinks and snacks and gangs of moped riding prats are 'rock and roll' it's your choice. Personally once was enough and I'm not interested in financing an ex coppers wet dream. Sad really as I'd looked forward to calling in. At least I was riding a period Norton 99 café racer to add a tiny grain of authenticity to an otherwise bogus sideshow. Brooklands, our next stop for the Norton meeting was much more fun.

@@PurityVendetta I do not wear Londoncentric blinkers by any stretch of the imagination. In fact the London Rockers were taken the piss out of on occasions by my crowd with comments relating as to how they found their way out of the North Circular all the way to the TT. The original scene at The Ace, Chelsea Bridge, 59 Club, Busy Bee, and a bit further out at Johnsons was visited on a number of occasions. I did state that I stand corrected if I believed that The Ace was the only cafe still in existence. I used the Ace back in ththen The Ace must e 60's and obviously it isn't the same as it used to be. The Ace that I knew was a piss pit in comparison to what it is now. However I do still visit the place on special occasions where gangs of moped riding prats are definately not in evidence. The food available at the Ace I found to be of a lot better quality than in the old days. At least now a congealed lump of beans and greasy chips with a fag ash garnish isn't on the menu. If you are used to eating in some drum of a transport cafe, then The Ace must be well above your expectations. I've never been to Jack's Cafe so I can't comment on the cuisine served there. All I know about it is that it attracts some tossers who think they are representative of us Rockers.

we've got foreigners pretending to know about our traditions and of course they don't.what we, used to call a poser. can't they find an old biker or at least a young londoner who knows all of this modern technology to do the filming and uploading ? same goes for the bikes, more foreign bikes than british, how is that celebrating the cafes past ? in my day the top bike was £ 1000 now they start at £9000 for the same british bike that you can see here. and it wasn't possible to go up and around the roundabout before a 45 dukebox record ended, from the start to lift off at the end. it was about who could get the shortest time to go and get back, and you had to do it in pairs, so that you had a witness, that you hadn't cheated. and a bike that was all noise was a crap bike, losing compression, ie less power = less speed. a well maintained bike should purrr. why the ace of clubs ? because it had a large car park, big enough for lorries, ie lots of room to park bikes. the alternative was the mad hatter cafe. thats gone now to. and yes i am an old biker so i know what i am talking about. did the portsmouth run to, slept under the stones at stone henge on the way back, without all of the modern hassle, of, you ain't welcome here, that you get today. and, we didn't, spraycan everything that moved or not, with bad graffiti, and call it art. at least, go to art class, and learn how to do it properly. and we were the yobs ? ? ? yep back in those days, we built things to last. now, it's throw it away, buy a new one, cheaper to buy a new one than have it repaired. so basically, your being sold crap for more dosh. yep, we live in a throw away society, with throw away people. and that's, supposed to be, new is better ? who the hell for ? if you don't respect it and use it, you lose it. and there's no good, blaming everybody else. you let it happen, yep, all of you. now, it's profit before people

Hi Wolfroy thanks for your comments, an ex greaser that has lost my hair I do appreciate the classic bikes, owned a Triton for a few years so have been down the path of learning how lucky I was to ever get where I was going. The show is about getting the younger generation as well into bikes and the culture of riding with mates, we do have a few videos featuring some classic bikes in the series as well.
