And about the cheesiness: every Ace Combat game is cheesy, even the one who tried too hard to be "serious" (Assault Horizon), which IMO is the cheesiest.
@robbieaulia6462 Жыл бұрын
@@mrandrossguy9871 Not just that. Once you played one AC game, you'll quickly understand the pattern of how AC games are and nothing will surprise you even if the moment is great and you enjoy it. So the first AC game you play will always be that much more special because it's the only game where your expectation aren't just met but also surpassed beyond your imagination. It's just hard to innovate a game franchise that has a fundamentally simple gameplay loop. Project Ace will have to go batshit insane beyond the likes of Sector D2 if they want to truly innovate the AC franchise.

The drop in Daredevil is an amazing feeling, but I don't think it can beat skimming the surface of the bay with the refrain of this track playing and hearing, "This is Captain Ford of the Marigold, we're heading into the bay at full power" while slinging Mavericks at anything with a Stovie ensign. All games play to a power fantasy, but this one adds in the notion of being part of something greater in the process.
@cac_deadlyrang11 ай бұрын

This performance of Liberation of Gracemeria for me supersedes the studio version. The way the piece was performed is just so much more decisive (in terms of tempo and pacing) and colorful (in terms of the sound of the individual instruments). The only thing lacking here I feel is the difference in dynamic levels (especially in the buildup towards the “chorus”). But otherwise a fantastic performance!
@JarloftheAppianWay2 жыл бұрын
I completely agree- this version was cooking in its pace. The only things lost in this version were Bulgaria's solo hornist- they really made that melody sing, this guy was taking too many breaths imo. The other thing lost was the low brass beefy impact supporting the doublebass line. I feel that low brass in my SOUL every time I listen to the studio version
@One_Piloty_Boy2 жыл бұрын
The only thing i have to criticize with this piece is the fact that i think because of the increased speed, the intro sounds slightly off to the studio version. It is played properly and it sounds great, but it for some reason sounds rushed and maybe a beat early when the french horn comes in in the beginning. Am I insane or do others hear it? EDIT: They're coming in one sixteenth note earlier than the original song, their note should be accented on the last 16th note of the 4th beat. its small but extremely noticable if you know the original well.

As an AC fanboy not tethered by console preferences, AC6 had some amazing features. Being able to take over enemy bases and resupply from them, not to mention being able to command ally forces to target specific enemies was really cool. I really felt like an ace commanding the battlefield from the skies. No other AC game has replicated the same experience.
@Chrisadeth Жыл бұрын
Amen. Know this comment is older, but the command feature was so fucking unique and underrated. I missed it in AC7 as I felt like despite being just one of many allied aircraft, I had to do all the work, dodging MSL after MSL, while my flight has their heads up their ass. When in AC6, I would audibly say something to the effects of "someone get these pricks off My ass!!" As I jam the "allied cover" command. My immersion was never stronger as I watched my fellow aces rip the estovakians a new asshole. I actually felt like an ace, as you described. Ac7 tried to compensate for its lack of this feature by giving you flares, but they only do so much, and you only have so many. I appreciate the challenge, but at least give me the satisfaction of my squad being able to walk and chew gum at the same time rather than having the mental aptitude of a sqashed grape.
@enigma216 Жыл бұрын
Omg.. I've been playing this game for over half a decade and I didn't know you could do that.. I'm about to start it over again. I'm definitely going to look for this feature! Thank you!
@Chrisadeth Жыл бұрын
@enigma216 oh definitely do so. There's a bar that fills up in the bottom of your screen cut up into like 8 sections when you complete objectives, destroy enemies, that sort of thing. When one bar is filled, you can hit the allied cover/attack and your allies will DISINTEGRATE your target, however I only recommend doing so after completing one or two mission objectives however, as the feature requires you to have certain forces freed up from their mission to assist you, and make your commands more effective.

My favorite of the series is AC 5. I love how the story progresses from minor conflict, to open war, then the plot twists and everything gets confusing and chaotic, and it's up to you a and your squadmates to show everyone what's really going on. Besides, the bond between you and your squad members makes the journey through the conflict so epic. Never have I experienced the emotions and consequences of the conflict so close to heart in an Ace Combat game.

I always made my point that Ace Combat 6 had an unique story, i plan to make a video on it, but here it is summarized. Having the cutscenes with melissa and her struggle as a refugee to the war you are fighting above her, shows the consequences of that war on regular people, the people you are fighting for are not soldiers or generals, but moms and dads, elders and children. And it is one of the few games that showcase so much of your country's culture. So much that it even touches on LTC. Voycheck, an Estovakian himself. That paired with the gennuine revolt from Garuda 2 when you are given an order to fall back and give up on Gracemeria during the first act of the game, gives the evergrowing tention of the story, that culminates finally when you take back your beloved Gracemeria. *Notice how this song's musical motif is always creating tension and melancholy, and only really releases that tention on it's last glorious moments. That is how you tell a story without words or acting. I love this game so much...
