It's great to be back with Ace Combat on a handheld again. I thought the port will be poor but luckily it's not the case. I really hope we get more games rereleased sometime soon because the series really deserve it.

This series have a very dedicated fan base. I play AC since the AC2 on PS1 , more than 25 years ago 😅 didn't stop since. So I really hope you enjoy these amazing games and if you wan more, I strongly recommend AC4, AC5 and AC zero on PS2 via emulation. They the best. Have fun 😁

I just purchased this game, looking forward to playing it soon. My first and only Ace Combat game I played was the Unsung War, that game was epic and I doubt 7 can top that, but I'm still excited for the ride.

Trust me its dope 👌 especially on handheld! Only issue ive came across in my 40 hours of playing is when you get to missions that have a lot of drone enemies with a giant boss the screen may flicker and the fps drops a bit. But its only happened twice on my switch lite. Oh and play expert controls! It'll help to get the game down pat faster than novice controls. Hope ya enjoy it if ya end up getting it 😊

Been a fan of Ace Combat since the 3DS game... I was about to give up hope for any other Ace Combat games to come to the Nintendo system and then was sucker-punched seeing this on the eshop earlier this week... I've been enjoying this game ever since.

I remember seeing the announcements for this back in Febuary, and I was so hyped. Ace Combat has become one of my favourite series', and havibn dabbled with the Xbox version of AC7, I wanted to grab this asap. I did, and I'm loving it! It's one of those ports that doesn't feel especially conpromised, I'm grinning like an idiot blowing up oil tanks and drones on my journey to work. This is what I still love about the Switch full games on the go

I know, everyone has their own preferences, but come on, no actual AC fan has it as their favourite - it's a great comeback for sure, being basically a compilation of the most proveb elements from the previous games, with a sprinkle of some new mechanics, and fans adore the game as what it is no doubt, but outside of being most modern and good looking installment it doesn't really stands out. It plays it too safe, and for a good reason so, but if AC8 happens any time soon*, it should bring some real innovations and personality to the table. With that said, me personally more inclined to revisit any of the previous parts (except for Assault Horizon maybe and Joint Assault for sure), for me most memorable part of AC7 was its soundtrack, which is not a good sign, especially considering that by the series metrics it barely stands out with a few tracks. It's actually pretty difficult to pick a favourite among the series to begin with, because every installment has its own personality and spin on the series. For me personally, as short and flawed it is, Zero is orobably the closest - it had some unique melancholic atmosphere to it, reinforced by the live-action cutscenes, gameplay was polished to a near perfection, and the soundtrack was just a chef's kiss. But the most memorable was probably Ace Combat X - I've played it with PPSSPP on my phone and was amazed how they've managed to put a PS2-worthy game into PSP hardware with a relatively little sacrifice (most disappointing being 30FPS cap and clunky controls with no second stick) not only in terms of a core gameplay, but also managed to provide probably the most variety of missions (or at least it felt like so with non-linear strategic progression) that I've seen in the series and introduced a lot of new mechanics, some of which made it into AC7 too eventually (e.g. plane upgrades). The most nostalgic choice would be AC2 with its funky OST and straightforward simple gameplay loop with a vibrant variety of the missions too... That's what I'm taking about, once you start to talk about the series, there's so much to choose from and your can enthusiastically describe every installment, not being able to pick the one favourite, it's more about each game being "favourite for" than one particular being "favourite because", if you know what I mean. *which I kinda doubt as they'll have to cut a lot of iconic planes for the political reasons, unless they ditch real brands altogether as Project Wingman did. Maybe they should try some soft reboot and ditch the real brands altogether, because it has been holding them back for so long and made most of the games in the series legally unobtainable, outside of the aftermarket and emulation - they can't even make a re-release (like Gex and some other games are having soon) because all of those licenses are expired and it's just not worth it to renew them even if it was possible. Actually, I've always wondered, why a fictional universe has a real planes instead of making fictional copies with just enough changes to for a legal clearance (I guess, AC3 underperformance, where they've actually tried to do something like that, diverted they away from any experiments).

Ace 7 is one of the sloppiest Comebacks and an Apologetic letter Does Not make up for it ! But you do make “valid” explanations and examples of how this series can Actually get better ? Stupid Licensing for one needs to stop so we can actually have over 50 Unique planes again
@evilbabai7083
@evilbabai7083 4 ай бұрын
@@APerson-ni1gb I agree, but it's a comeback nevertheless and that's much better than the alternative of the series being dumped for good. I understand why they chased after the real brands - they had to use recognizable planes in order to get a new IP off the ground, and then, after AC3 controversy, they had to resort back to them again in order to keep themselves afloat, therefore solidifying the setting as a hostage to the real world planes and their licensing. Project Wingman shows that AC game doesn't need to have real planes at all, but doesn't have to go full fiction either - only 3 of 24 planes are completely original (2, if you count PW-Mk.1 as CFA-44 Nosferatu), yet every other plane is more than recognizable. Considering current AC setting is getting too obscure and bloated for its own good, rebooting or soft-rebooting Strangereal with no licensed crafts could free their hands in terms of world building and save a lot of money for an actual development. As I see it, they could at least try remaking first two parts (preferably in a bundle, like Crash, Spyro and Tony Hawk's did), fleshing out the lore, improving mission design, adding more context and dialogues (like they did in AC Cross Rumble), while replacing iconic planes with their fictional counterparts. But they need to keep it simple and cheap, like PW did, they should use existing AC7 technologies and assets extensively. It should be a B/B+ game, positioned as a remake-reboot with an alternative timeline (like MK story did), they could name it something like "Ace Combat: Scarface Squadron" and if it gets successful - pick it up from there and explore older games with a modern take on them, either making it the main series or a commercially safe side project that will allow the existing main series not only going forward, but take more risks as well (though in the long term second path would lead the franchise to a dead end eventually). That's just from the top of my head - I believe if more though is put into it, some really promising options could be found.
