Handkerchief gal we got the box today. I look for week 1 and I’m like OMG! My child knows most of this but she needs help with somethings

Yes most of the stuff in kindergarten isn’t reading. It is letter recognition but more than that it is character building. Don’t talk to strangers, tell if someone says “don’t tell your parents” treat books nice. Brush teeth, who cops are, why the pastor is important....

Are the word building stories the same as those in ABCs with Ace & Christi? We used ABCs with Ace & Christi & aging ape was in that level.

My Math Pace is only numbered half way and after 3 weeks we are only in page 15 and it’s supposed to be done...but the manual says nothing about the second half. Same for science... any insite

No. You can do that in 1st grade but all the text for the teacher is in the binder for kindergarten

Thank you for this video! Is there a place I can purchase an entire kindergarten pack with everything I’ll need to teach kindergarten? Or do we need to purchase each pace separately?

Oh I hope this response isn’t too late! I like to purchase from Curriculum Express. You can order the paces as a group (all of English for the year) or as individual paces. For kindergarten you will need the binders which I would say try to buy 2nd hand.

Etse Arigye we actually did last year! It was fun to see kids in a school setting! Like much bigger than our living room but the same! My MIL also teaches at an ACE school but we only make it there (10 hr drive) during holidays. But we like to visit her classroom!

I have a 4-year-old (turning 5 in February) and he already knows his letters and sounds and can also count to 100. Should I just start with the kindergarten curriculum or move him up to ABC’s with Ace and Christie?

Hey Kassandra! That is a tough call. I think you would be totally fine with doing the ABC’s. He sounds like it would be a good fit. However the kindergarten has such good stories for life! Even my older kids listen when I read:) So I’d say do abc’s, save some money. But know the character building of kindergarten has lots of value as well...

So will the kindergarten curriculum be too easy for a 5 year old? My daughter can already read 3 letter words and some longer ones.

I would suggest it is a good place to start. You can do several days in one day and just finish it in a short time and go onto 1st grade. But that way you will still get all the verse memorizing, stories about respect and honor and how to treat others, as well as all the Bible stories!

Oh, and let me say, my son is almost five. He went to pre-k and he knows all his letters and sounds. He counts to 100. He doesn’t write as well. Would kinder be appropriate for him or would first grade be better? His teacher said he was one of the top performers at school. He blossomed at school vs. when he was home with me using a workbook called school sparks. I decided I was a failure as a homeschool teacher, yet I desire to give my son a Christian education. So maybe I could try again.

Hi! I'm obviously not the person who made the video, but on for the ACE Curriculum, they provide a "Reading Readiness" test available for purchase on their website. If they pass, it is recommended that they go on to the ABCs program (1st Grade), if not, the Kindergarten would be a better fit. I am new to homeschooling my little ones as well and am hoping that ACE works for us! Good luck to you!
