When I use him yeah, also use the Pilot control mod. This allows me to have controls from the back seat in the front seat. Chaff and radar elevation being the 2 big ones you want.

how do I stop dying to flankers in a joust with the tomcat? (When I get killed it’s either because R27 does R27 things, or I lag too much to the point where I can’t evade the missile) so it’s mostly up to skill issue that I keep dying

What R-27 are you fighting? If its an ER you got no chance, If its the regular R then with in 8 miles you trade. Beyond 8 miles you have the advantage how ever he can crank harder than you due to memory mode. So the safest bet it to try and start the fight with an altitude advantage. If he is a little higher than you make sure you're much faster.

@@Joemate23 Ok ok, (Regular R btw, and I’m on contention 80s), is there any point in a joust where I should go cold then recommit after a few seconds? (I’m kinda on the edge of doing that because the other day I was able to kill a flanker because he went cold, but didn’t recommit)
