AceBeam’s Rider RX is a 14500 EDC with a fidget toy twist!

In the knife world we called that ball bearing satisfying click "detent". And you're right it does have a satisfying element to it. Also that Detent will wear in overtime and it becomes easier to fidget. Also that brush stainless probably is providing less friction on that ball bearing. Or it's a coincidence that there is a fit and finish difference and that one just happens to be easier. Thanks for reviewing these I've been pretty interested in grabbing one

A detent on a flashlight... I didn't expect that in the fidget piece of the Rider RX. Acebeam definitely thinking outside the box with that. I think the combination of price, size, included cell and that pretty neutral 219F emitter make it a pretty compelling light even if people find the clip a bit off-putting or aren't interested in the fidget aspect at all... it allows for tail standing a forward-clicky tail switch while keeping the design aesthetic intact. Those tint & temp comparison shots are excellent -Cheule-! That was a perfect demo of rosy, not rosy by comparison, but wait... check it out now! Awesome!

There are detents in other flashlights, such as ones with control rings/knobs.

New subscriber to Cheule’s here…how come every time I watch your videos, I’m compelled to purchase the product you’re reviewing? Because of you, I purchased a Hank D4SV2 with W2 emitters, recently ordered another D4VS2 dual channel a with a LH351D 3500K emitter for the first channel, LH351D 5500K for the second channel with flood optics for a high CRI flood option with a nice tint ramping option, and not even receiving that, I’m planning to order another Hank D4K with a LH351D for the first and W2 for the second for a nice floody/throwy combo, except I plan to keep the default Anduril configuration to have a nice throwy floody pattern on turbo, and now, FFS, I want this fidget light! Jesus I love this channel. Edit: I know this was 9 months ago, but I fecking ordered this damn light. Thanks KZbin for showing me this to make me spend my money. Also, why no “click on the link in the description below to purchase blah blah”?

I'm thinking about replacing my Olight i5R with a Acebeam Rider Rx. Would that be an upgrade or a downgrade in your opinion? I do prefer neutral white over cool white.

I like the Rider RX. But to be honest, I don’t think it gets any better in AA sized lights than a Reylight LANapple. It’s got a great driver, comes with Nichia 519A, and has a “custom” flashlight look. The only downside is you will need a stand alone charger because it doesn’t have built in charging. Also, the AceBeam Polelit is a great light too. I think the reason I recommend the pokelit over the rider Rx is because the rider is a bit bulky because of the fidget features.

I found this light on Amazon for lightning deal at 29 for v2 in ti. I was looking for a cheap light to have on Vaca I don't mind losing. Now I may like this much to use for Vaca which I why I got it smh

That fidget feature is cool, but I'd be screwing with that all the time. I'm the kind of person who fidgets with everything and it doesn't really help me to have something designed for it.

The clip is half the width of the flashlight 😂 It's nice that it's different but the clip is too big.
