Nope. Mobius 1 is hands down the best pilot in the Strangereal universe. Mobius 1 is the Ace of Aces and I desperately hope new story DLC drops for 7 featuring him. Or at least let's us deck out Triggers plane as Mobius 1. Mobius 1 is the Ace of Aces. He's hands down my favorite character in all of the Ace Combat games. I wish they did more with him. Make novels or something, ANYTHING, I'd eat it up

Ace combat 4 is the first acecombat game that hit close to "mainstream" but the pilot of every ace combat is the player themselves, theyre not technically actual characters in the canon story. I love ace combat but i dont take the story too seriously. Its always just been a context for why we are flying jets and blowing shit up. But lets be real here, most of the "story" is super cheesy.

Honestly, all protagonists are the same. The series always portrays the player as ascending into legendary status and then fading into obscurity. We get to play the power fantasy fresh everytime. Trying to put our personal favorites over new ones would hinder the series. I like Cipher best, but they all have similar arcs that wouldn't work with overlap.

Yes. In Ace Combat 4 and Ace Combat 5 (Operation Katina). Apparently he's been recruited to join the IUN-PKF in Ace Combat 7 during the second Free Erusea insurrection.

super late response, but it's believed that ISAF was dissolved sometime around 2006+ sense it was a temporary military alliance of the Usean nations. sense the IUN is a more international organization it makes sense that they would replace it during peacetime rebuilding. however, many of ISAF's assets were handed over to the IUN such as Mobius and Omega squadrons.

He could've been in his late teens or early 20s during the Stonehinge / Megalith engagements. That'd put him only in his mid/late 30s, early 40s in AC7. And we've seen Mihaly. Old pilots are still dangerous pilots. So maybe not his last missions. I still really hope we get another AC game with Mobius 1. He's my Ace of Aces and my hands down favorite pilot.

@@effisjens1776 Except there actually is one. Firstly, the blueprints shown in one of the game's cutscenes shows COFFIN lights in the aircraft. Secondly, the newest edition of Aces at War actually states that there is a manned version. It even lists QAAMs and the TLS as some of it's SP Weapons.

@@effisjens1776 I'm calling it now, the Strike Wyvern will still be king of the skies. Lasers are defeated by clouds and they're harder to aim + they do damage over time rather than all at once. Meanwhile, the Wyvern has a railgun. Though the ADF-11 will still be my high tier main. I adore it's design.

Can someone explain why there’s select missions that are VR-compatible? I’m no tech head, but I’d imagine all missions could be VR-compatible? I’d love for all AC7 campaign missions to be VR-compatible. I imagine a VR headset and a HOTAS flight stick would be one hell of an experience.

This game was in development hell for most of its life they may not have had the time or the resources to make all mission VR compatible. Same thing with CO-OP people keep asking for it when they have already said that it won't come to 7 because they would have to rebuild the entire game for it.

According to a developer interview (The Making of ‘ACE COMBAT7 SKIES UNKNOWN’ (Part 1&2)) the team encountered several issues: insufficient frame rate on PS4 in the campaign mode, causing them to just make completely different VR missions. Sound design had to be remade from the ground up. Another source (can’t remember which one) also stated that the plane models had to be all new for VR, which explains why you only get 4 (F/A18, F22, A10, Su30), no matter what you unlocked in the campaign. While I think most of the campaign missions would benefit from VR a *lot*, I really wouldn’t want to do that horrible canyon mission with VR… 😱
