Guthrie's message should be heard, people need to raise their self awareness and become respectful to others. Great interview, respect for this guy is constantly growing.

Thank you! That’s really cool about the hand-wired AC15, too! I actually borrowed this AC15C1 from a friend for this video, but I’ve wanted one like what you’ve got for a while!

I'm halfway through this video but I had to pause to leave a comment - nice job, man! This is a great interview, with very well thought out and pointed questions. The information we get here is invaluable, and not available anywhere else. Thanks for doing this!

Thanks so much! That’s an awesome compliment, and I really appreciate you saying that! I try to prepare questions for my interviews that I genuinely want to know the answers to, and I thought Guthrie’s honesty and willingness to answer questions really speaks to the type of genuine guy he is.

Great hearing about your take on the biz… and something you said,almost at the end, made me remember what Rick Beato said…” Thought destroys Flow”…! So true,man! Please keep em coming… very cool to “pick your brain” by way of these videos..

Thank you so much! I really loved that part of my talk with Guthrie as well - the over analysis of music killing the musicality. I’ll do my best to keep them coming!

It's so interesting to hear Guthrie talk about growing up on very traditional music. It's exactly how I grew up only with even less musical education. My dad had nothing but one artist and 100% pure 3 chord yodelling cowboy songs. However I thing it really helps to learn things on your own with what you've got which for me was the major pentatonic scale and that was it. It's very inspiring to hear this coming from Guthrie who is clearly a superb musician. It gives some hope to a wannabe player like myself that being a better musician is possible. Great interview Cody.

I like everything about this comment. Seriously. I agree that it was fantastic to hear Guthrie talk about the way he approaches music from a different perspective because of his upbringing. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Also, I’ve seen your videos - you’re not a wanna be!

That’s fantastic! I imagine you’re getting a lot out his lessons. Everyone I talk to who does his ArtistWorks program and takes lessons from him rave about how great of a teacher he is.

That’s so awesome to hear. I think he’s doing a lot of really cool things with his online instructional material, and it’s even cooler that he’s so involved with his students on a personal level.

It’s so interesting hearing Guthrie talk about how he didn’t grow up playing tons of songs and learning licks etc from recordings as that seems to be the route ALOT of players take to get to this level
@CodyJungGuitar3 жыл бұрын
Very true on that last point. While there’s nothing wrong with the more normal or traditional way of learning, I think that’s what makes Guthrie a bit unique in both his approach to playing and his approach to teaching.

Great chat Guthrie ! Unfortunately the people who interrupt your conversations (at NAMM show) don’t even know what they’re doing, they have no concept of the meaning of the word “rude” Well done for holding back, best way to deal with it 😇😇
@CodyJungGuitar3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, NAMM is such a strange place, isn’t it? There seems to be a suspension of certain common sense things in that type of environment. I’ve got to agree with you on that!
@billm95803 жыл бұрын
It’s not restricted to NAMM Cody 🤨, unfortunately people are just not good with certain social skills ! Well done on your interviews, enjoy watching them ✅
@CodyJungGuitar3 жыл бұрын
Haha, you are right about that. NAMM certainly seems to amplify some things, but it does seem like social skills in general have diminished in recent years.
