Another great Podcast... i was Born in Bothwell in 1956.. Ken McCluskey was 5 yrs younger than me i went to St.Johns Primary in Uddingstone as well.. he stayed in "Appledore Crescent" i stayed in the other "White Houses" Scheme across the Road "Churchill Crescent".. i remember the football pitch in Woodene Bothwell he talked about. I think Bothwell United used it.. there was an Orphanage right next to it.. he brought back some happy memories for me. Well done again J P & ACSOM.. ❤

I remember seeing Dominic Bethan in Heraghty’s bar with Ken and his brother , David , occasionally. I saw the Bluebells numerous times in the early eighties, and the McLuskey brothers in the mid-eighties . They were terrific live.

Absolute corker, and so many topics covered, give me music, football, and history and I am a happy bhoy. I am sending this to a few friends who have fallen in love with Celtic but are still new to the club and its history and culture, because it can teach you so much, supported for 50 yrs and I learn so much from this show. Tommy's retort to those who say we are all the same was spot on, and Ken's comments about Bigotry made me happy. I miss a lot of the old songs, and I'll probably get pelters for this, but in some games I have heard the same song repeated over and over for 10-15 minutes almost as if we can't remember any other ones and ends up with the rah, could we maybe just channel some of that into the songs we have lost or might lose? Just my thoughts. Can someone share links for Spotify so I can listen, love the D I Canio!

Fun fact about Liverpool Lou by Dominic behan. I listened to Yoko Ono on desert island discs on radio many years ago with Kirsty young. She said that John Lennon used to sing Liverpool Lou to Sean Lennon whilst a baby when they lived in the Dakota building in New York, obviously where John was killed in 1980. Interesting the musical links.
