Yes, they were "the last good era before dark days" because you were a kid back then, and you grew up and started hating everything new. Just like people from the 40's hated music from the 60's and people from the 60's hated music from the 80's. And people from the 80's hate music from the 2000's. Everyone's time when they were young was the best time in history.
