"Nitch" (rhymes with "pitch") is actually the older pronunciation. It comes from a Latin root, not a French one. "Neesh" started getting popular in the beginning of the 20th century when people decided it should be pronounced all fancy and French-like. It's like if, 100 years from now, people decided "target" should be pronounced "tarjzay." Nowadays, "nitch" is the US pronunciation and "neesh" is the British pronunciation. Pronounce it how you want. :)

Something that I used with some of my residents who had similar disabilities that helped them do more art-type stuff was actually clay (ironically enough)! I used it to bulk up their utensils, just like the foam pads that you can slide onto silverware. It definitely helped with being able to grip, if that might help you out at all!

If you like the medium, you can make a "clay oven" or "warming oven". Its basically a foil lined box with a light bulb in it. It keeps the clay nice and warm but not too hot work with. Or you can use an alcohol torch to smooth surfaces and melt sections to rework or add material.

I was taught in college to use this type of clay. You can put a lamp that gives off heat on oil/wax clay to keep it soft. Heat guns can help for starting to soften the clay. Alcohol torches help smooth areas. Also putting the tip of metal tools under a flame to heat them up for smoothing or the like helps too.

This stream is inspirational and creative. Most importantly, it is Your platform, not ours. You enjoy creating and (happily for the vast majority of us) we enjoy you kicking off our creativity. Until we are directly paying you and you are our employee, the channel and the content is 100% yours. Personally, I love watching channels that help my creativity, or help anyone be more creative. You keep doing these videos. Read or don't read comments, but if you read, it is like reading a newspaper - some bits you just gloss out. Keep doing what you're doing and own it. Thanks for the creativity.

Using similar clay that needed to stay soft for ecorche I found that putting it in a potpourri pot lined with foil worked great. Before that I had it in a little ceramic cup on top of candle warmer. Both options are inexpensive and should be easy to find. In the studio we had it under a light. There are probably many good options to keep it soft.

When you were talking about the social media aspects of things and reading KZbin comments I really resonated with that. It isn't great when you get so obsessed with the numbers and getting approval from others. Keep up the awesome work! You're doing great :)

Awesome to see you use the clay. I bought the entire 3 box set so I really wanted to see more videos on the clay box. Can't wait to try this clay.

1. that tool with the frayed ends is called a rake, and potters used them to rake up clay, add a liquid clay (slip) between to sections and that helps to bond the pieces together. 2. could you use a coffee cup warmer and place a glass plate then your clay to keep it soft? God bless

I really enjoyed the 'Hangin with Anthony' vibe, and getting to see a bit more of your personality shine through. This video was a lot of fun! And i enjoyed that it was a bit longer than many others. If you're planning on doing more longer ones, I'm here for it!

I wonder if one of them mug warmers that you can set your coffee cup on would work good for keeping it pliable. I enjoyed the format to this video and how less formal it is.

OMG, the wizard bust was foreshadowing of the year! So Monster is more used in subtractive sculpting as used in special effects sculpting. So usually you would heat up the clay and slap it on a cast and carve out your features. Obviously it can be used however you want but that is what it was designed for so the idea of keeping the clay warm is not often a consideration. That said the heatgun could work but I think a small heat lamp would work very well. So here is something else you can do. make your basic bust or what have you in sculpy. Make it very generic. Then you use monster on top of it to create you character or whatever it may be your making. You can then mold that and cast. Then remove the monster clay or reshape it to a different expression. This isn't how it was don't as far as I know but this would be a very quick way to make a few dozen Jack Skellington heads. The multiple heads is how the movie was done. Also, once you finish a sculpt you can use short bursts from a heatgun and paintbrush in hot water to remove finger prints etc. much like you do with clay softener on sculpy as it achieves the same thing. Read up on the modeling putty that is in the mini's box, as I'm curious to see what you would do with it, and or to sculpt in mini scale. Thanks for another great video. I am eagerly awaiting my set as I have the cheapest tools on Amazon and never upgraded, so this is my upgrade of sorts. @Jazza is pretty amazing as are the folks at Smart Art that helped him put this together for such a ridiculously great price!

The super chatty Ace of Clay we got today is very fun to watch and listen to. I love watching your videos and I am in awe of your talent. I would watch live or voice over style videos. Do whatever is better for you. You did a very thorough and knowledgeable review of Jazza's Art Box. Thanks

Hey Ace! For the temperature maintenance of the clay, I have used an electric heating pad wrapped around the clay container before. A lot of sculptors just take a box and stick a light (incandescent) inside to make a kind of oven to keep the clay warm. Monster Clay has a higher amount of wax so you can use hot tools to help shape and carve it. You can also use heat to help smooth the sculpt. Hope this helped!

You could put the finished monster clay sculpture in a freezer; and then lace the surface with Sculpty. Then if would be good to bake and paint.

You don't suck by any means. I think you are great showing people how to do things. I made my first youtube video a couple of months ago showing how to do a diagonal bridge in animal crossing. My sole purpose was just to help out those playing the game. Love watching how you can make things with clay. We would so get along great as friends.

Was so excited to see you use Monster Clay I rushed over here! Haven't even finished the video yet and someone might have already commented this but: you can use a blow dryer to warm up your sculpture (just on low heat because you don't want to melt it) & I have a mini crockpot for dips and such that I keep my Monster Clay in to keep it warm. It's a super cool clay to work with thought because you can put so much detail into it and use it for such a long time! Hope that helped a little and can't wait to see what you create!!!

pleaaaseee do the other two boxes! I prefer your channel far over the others mentioned who also unboxed this, you are so enjoyable to watch and making more creations with the other two boxes would be incredible one more thing- You should do more face to face videos like this, you were so funny!

I bought some monster clay to make molds with and then my gf got ahold of it. She has been using a heat gun to keep it workable. It's really fun stuff! Commenting on the whole numbers thing, I agree. I am doing my best not to obsess over my twitter, that I am working on building. Also... you're stuff is AMAZING. I am glad to hear you aren't letting people tell you any differently. I just found your stuff, and I am just getting back into sculptey. You've taught me so much and have solidified ideas that I already had. Thank you for your videos. I am excited to watch more

I love ALL your videos! I can’t thank you enough for teaching us all how to sculpt!! Every video I learn something new and I know I’m not alone in appreciation of that! Someone from your Snakes of Clay Facebook group said it best, (unfortunately I can’t recall their name but they get full credit for this) they said you are like the Bob Ross of sculpting, and it’s so true! Please keep doing what you do and thank you again for all your videos!!!
