When I play $1/$2 I usually open to $8 or $10 if I’m the first in, but if there are limps ahead of me, I add $2 per limp.

Depends where you're playing. The gamble is so big in Texas you can open to more than 20 in 1-2 and you're still getting multiple callers. Opening to 8 with big hands wouldn't be maximizing profit in games like that

I logged 100s of hours at 1/2 in Texas and my usual open would be $12 in EP and if I have limpers ahead it would usually be between $15-$25 in later position or $30 depending on how many limpers. Straddles of course change everything. It’s all about being consistent with your sizings!

In 1/2 and 1/3 , 1/2 for this situation, I open 8x from EP, and from LP as long as there are no limpers. For every $2 limp, I go 5x and add $5 to my opening size and , plus blinds . So if I’m on the button and there are 2 limps, I open to $30. Lots of limp calling and a lot of folds after seeing the flop

I play 1/3 and most common EP open is 15$, MP and LP can be anywhere from 10-25 depending on the amount of limps. For me personally, to open, I just do limps+blinds+5$, but to 3bet, I usually do 3x raise

oppo is not thinking if to call or fold with set of 88, but if to call or shove imho - he turn the cards straightaway, doesn't even wait for you to show your hand

Just because you hit the jack on the river doesnt mean you won with a 4.5% chance to win. The money went in pre-flop when you were ahead.

8:59 - All of his hands are DESTROYING you....yea, let's throw more money in and 4-b. Haha, great read, horrible play, but it worked out pretty well. Still seems like a fold to me esp when you know he's NIT and his range dominates you. Can't ever get behind the 4b there (even though it worked out).

I hear you, it was actually a 3 bet, I said action wrong. Got jumbled because of straddle. He actually opened to $75 over 2 limps and I 3 bet big. It’s just so weird because I don’t like flatting and bringing in 2 limpers to the pot. Don’t like folding, feel like I’m forced to 3bet and see what he does.

I get tired of this silly s. I played in a $165 tourney recently and had a kid with a Go-Pro at the table recording. He was a solid player but cmon? Dude shoved and bluffed him off a big pot and then showed the kid. Of course the ole Go-Pro was turned off for that one

On that 99 hand if you put him on an over pair and you were planning to fold if you didn’t hit a 9, why not just call the $75 even if it brings in the other callers? You’re lucky he didn’t jam it in your face preflop and then you torch over $200 without seeing a flop. He obviously was never folding on such a low board so you could’ve stacked him with less risk, maybe even brought along one of the other callers
@AcePoker444
@AcePoker444 Жыл бұрын
He still can have AK AQ even KQ suited along with his combos of TT-AA so it’s not JUST over pairs. You just don’t want to go multi way, you never know what BS someone can hit, even if I do hit a 9. Obviously here I would’ve boated up but you never know.

1.) You didnt win 5% hand. You won 56% hand. 2. ) Re-raising a nit with 99- this is soo terrible. Better is to call and play with 3 other peoples. After hitting set you have higher chances to get money from one of them. 3.) First you said that this nit plays- 10 10+ and AQ+. During the hand you are saying that he can have 8 8 and J 10. Wtf ? It’s not a hate. Work on your game, play good and see you at the tables :)
