Pocket 9s never fail! I was in Vegas last week and played some at the MGM. I had pocket 9s, called a 3-bet pre-flop. I hit middle set on the flop, which was K 9 rag. Opponent shoves, so I should have put him on kings and folded. My donk-ass snap called and yep, dude had a set of kings. Turn comes, and I hit quad 9s. Sick win, and also got a bonus for high hand.

I live in Reno, Nevada. I grew up in Boise, Idaho. Last summer my mom and I traveled together to eastern Idaho to scatter my father's ashes. I am old enough to remember $2.00 blackjack tables, and I was really looking forward to once again playing the beginner poker table in Jackpot, Nevada. (Even the small stakes tables in Reno are too much for my very small budget.) The only time I played in their poker room, it was $.25 to get your first two cards. Sadly, they took out their poker room. No poker meant booze. Their drinks were weak as water. After several drinks, I went to bed sad and sober. Cactus Pete's knows their market, and it is 80 year olds who like slots and crappy food.

Anyway, I am actually doing a review of all of your videos (currently at #45) and a question popped in my head. I was wondering how you keep track of your stack, other players' stacks, and your hand history when you're at the table? Knowing exactly how much your opponents have seems like it would be really challenging. When I've played in the past, I usually just estimate what opponents have. Are you constantly taking notes? You know that K3 river bluff was a bit optimistic, what it shows me is you have that extra gear that I’ve never had: lots of money to wield as yet another weapon at the table. It’s funny, watching your channel has shown me how fine a line I negotiated back when I played. The confidence you have in being able to add on or even just get it back with steady play allows you to gamble a bit more when you’re up. All that said, if bluff-shoves and over-betting the pot doesn’t work on new, inexperienced players, the idea of a bet for value isn’t likely to either. The opponent seemed a little hesitant, and did seem to consider folding, to your credit. In this case, it might be possible that the overbet would actually have worked, and perhaps more time at the table with him would have led to the same conclusion.
