Hello, I have the same laptop and discovered a problem: I installed a 256 GB nvme drive, Pcie 3.0 x4, but it works in Pcie 1.0 x2 mode according to crystaldiskinfo. Tell me, does your drive work in PCie 3.0 x4 mode? If you encountered the same problem, how did you fix it?

It has ony 1 RAM slot for change....but in the system its showing that it has two RAM slots.....I am not able to find th eother RAM slots

Abt ram the slot where the guy from youtube put ram was already filled with 4gb ram so i had 2 4gb ram from which one can be replaced so my technician said you can upgrade upto 12 gb . And i replace the dettacable ram with 8 gb which give me total of 12 gb 2. Abt ssd yes he said i can upgrade to 1 tb ssd but 512 was enogh for me so i go with 1tb hdd which gave me total of 1tb hdd +512ssd but unfortunately i cannot find tge connector for hdd in my city and also i suggest dont put hdd as i try to put with a connector at a local shop but the connector was burned immediately. So again my technician suggest me. original cable is not available in my country(Nepal) and it is risk to put a copy cable so he suggest me to get a external hard drive converter which was a win win situation for me as i am a travel photographer and i cant carry laptop everywhere But for gamers or who can take there laptop every where I suggest find a original or good quality cable abd upgrade to 1tb hdd for storage Or you can upgrade your 512 gb with 1 tb ssd And if you have more budget you can do both 1tb ssd + 1 tb hdd After upgrade of ram personally it gives a bettee performance but i stiil need atleast 16gb in future . Upto now working like a champ.

if i change the ssd from 128 gb to 1 tb. do i have change the RAM if it's already 8 gb? and also before i change the ssd do i have to save/transfer the files from the Documents folder and/or from download folder?

Hej i learnt something new today. My acer aspire dose not have anything like what i thought a Hard Drive looked like. i think it is an ssd card thingy. I have a problem with my laptop. it is only 1 yr old. 2 days ago i turned it on as usual, logged in and used it till i went to bed. As i was ready to turn it off up popped the dreaded updates and turn off notifications. So i did as instructed. Next day i turned on my laptop, logged in with my code and then it went to a black screen.............................. Noooo........... I can see the mouse cursor but the screen is black. i have turned it off twice and restarted it only for it to let me log in with my code and go direct to a black screen. Is there any way i can save my laptop as i have so much stuff on there . ? or is it dead ? Thanx

hello so i have this laptop as well and i just took the thing apart and regarding the ram it has a 4gb ram stick in it right now im trying to figure how to upgrade it to 12gb i don't see the onboard memory anywhere so i don't understand how its reading 4gb only if theres something on the motherboard as well

it has one removable ram stick and one that is integrated to the motherboard, both are 4gb. That's why when you removed one it still detects 4gb of ram. You need to replace the 4gb of removable memory with 8gb to have 12gb of total ram.

Bro, I have an acer Aspire A5 14-53 G and I have a soldered ram of 4gb 2667 MHzand I Have a compartment in my laptop for extra ram. I bought an 8 gb 2666 MHz but my computer screen wont turn on when i turn it on. I also asked the seller and said that the ram cannot be used together with soldered memory. Is that true?

You probably have two ram slots 4gbs each the other one might be under the motherboard

i would suspect that 4GB is Soldered directly on the mainboard so you would be upgrade 4GB + 8GB or 16GB
