It is the base speed...when you do heavy task it will auto boost...manually it is not required...do rmeember to keep the Power profile to Balanced or Best Performance

Metal and plastic doesnt matter much until you throw laptop or use it very roughly which we most people dont...so any one is fine...regarding battery it has a good battery but yes on battery mode no heavy task is recommended and this applies to all the Laptops

Yes because the speaker are down firing as I explained in the Video. You can try to tweak them a little bit using the Acer Audio Console but they wont be very loud
