I only have one Trident, a bonsai...but I have my eye on the weeping one now. However, I bought so many JPM's from you this year I'm sure I've put one of your kids through college already.

Thanks for an amazing open house this past weekend. I’m just sad I missed getting the last Noel😢. But it was great to see you again, Tim. I was very impressed you actually remembered my name!

I’m a bit late to this video, but really appreciate the info. I can speak to the crazy hardiness of the miyasama yatsubusa. I set mine in its 1 gal nursery pot, in a flower bed by a stone wall, and forgot it for a whole year. I rediscovered it this spring when it grew the 4 ft over the top of the wall. I ended up cutting the pot from around it, and stacking some soil up to cover the roots. It is happy as can be, baking in 7B.

I'm enjoying the music you've been adding to these videos. Very nice. The trident maples seem quite attractive. I'm not sure its related but the paper bark maple is high on my dream list and it has the trident leaves also.

A lot of the music is by Shawn who works at Mr. Maple. He plays in a band called Bad Rabbit. I saw them last night and grabbed a beer with Bryan after the open house and it was a great time! I'd recommend checking them out

I’ve got a buergerianum and serrulatum here in humid 10a of Brisbane, Australia. Both growing really well in the shade of 20m tall mature trees. They were even inundated in recent flooding and don’t seem to have skipped a beat. So I can definitely vouch for their toughness!

Hey yall awesome open house, special thanks to Tim for the emmitts pumpkin, I have a question, what soil should I mix for fall planting a japanese maple into the ground? Thanks #japanesemaples
@MrMapleShow2 жыл бұрын
Make sure not to plant to deeply and break up the soil. If it needs additional drainage aged pinebark mixes work great
@skyinvestor77762 жыл бұрын
hey bro, you will get different answers from many gardners.. some say you shouldnt ammend the soil. blah.. blah.. I use Sta-Green 2-cu ft Garden Soil as much as I can.. You want to use good quality soil and let the roots establishment. sta green garden soil is good investment.. good luck..

Hey im new to this but love your channel, is there anything people recommend planting with japanese maples. I learned about companion planting, do they have good companions? Think it might make a good idea on what might help the plant grow or wont compete with it.
@MrMapleShow2 жыл бұрын
We do a lot of sedums. The key is not to much root competition
