Well there are rich people that would never buy something like this. Generally people with lots of money are also careful with their money. That is why they are rich in the first place. It is far more common for people with medium to low income to spend money on junk. It depends on how you got rich. If you are pop artist or actor then perhaps you are more willing to splurge on luxury items like this but then again it is not uncommon to hear about such people with financial difficulties.

Euro and dollar signs were an Acer thing, I guess. My very first computer was an old Acer laptop and it had those keys in the exact same spot. One curious thing is that the euro sign acted wierdly when I was playing Mugen games, like it would make some characters do some wierd things I was never able to do otherwise.

The F1 team was sponsored by Acer during the early 2000s which is why there's only F1 images as it was a collaboration between the two. Also you need to understand that this would have come out straight after Ferrari just won 5 back to back world titles so people would have wanted them so bad.

"straight after Ferrari just won 5 back to back world titles so people would have wanted them so bad" Um, you might be projecting just a *bit* there, bud. F1 racing's plenty cool and all, but I doubt there were legions of race fans pissing their pants with excitement for the opportunity to spend $2,000 on a late 90s gaming laptop with Ferrari stickers. There'll always be hardcore fanatics but it's not like they're going to buy 10 laptops each. "you need to understand" Right back atcha. You also failed to mention how Acer's primary marketplace was the US, where F1 racing is a very distant second to NASCAR in popularity.

I still see Early 09s and newer in coffee shops and stuff, but those are most definitely begining to be retro in some eyes. Also the 2009 Mac Minis now only go for $50 dollars WITH the power supply. Three years ago I traded an iPad 2 for my dream computer since childhood, a dual processor 1.8GHz PowerMac G5. We is getting old. I completely agree there, the early 2000's were a ton of fun. I remember just messing around in ms paint, writing fanfictions out of my bedroom in notepad, and just watching movies on my Dell Dimension 3000. Wasn't exactly a fast machine, but it did pretty much what I wanted it to. 2012 was a huge turning point for me because that's when I got my eMachines computer, which completely DESTROYED the Dell Dimension 3000, and blew my mind. It's the reason I'm as into tech as I am now, and why I built myself a gaming computer using parts that add up to a good 700 - 800 dollars now. Basically what I'm getting at is that if that old Dell computer running Windows XP wasn't ever given to me when my mom upgraded to a computer running Vista, I probably wouldn't be vibing with friends in Sea of Thieves at 100+ fps on high - max settings today.

It's because Thrustmaster at the time had the Ferrari license for making steering wheel acessories. I personally feel Ferrari in the 00's and early 2010's kind of whore out their name, and badge to just about anyone who would pay them the most, as there was even a Ferrari branded iPhone case with nasty smelling cologne in it that had a slight smell of racing fuel, and I know this because one of my coworkers at the time wore it, and it stunk up our store to high hell!

Tip I read somewhere and applied to my 4 year old controller (a Logitech F710): those rubbery plastic surfaces can actually be cleaned by applying some isopropyl alcohol (some hand sanitizers use it) onto a rag and scrubbing the surfaces with it real hard. Doing this essentially gets rid of the melted layer. I still use the controller today after cleaning it off.

I had this laptop when I was growing up. The first day I got it, there was 1 or 2 dead pixels and the left speaker blew. I really loved this laptop though. They keyboard was really comfortable to use and I liked turning on the Bluetooth every time I wanted to use the mouse. I bought a used one a few years ago, but the rubber on it was horribly sticky and with a 1 core CPU, there wasn't much I was going to do with it. There was also a problem when plugging in USB keys that would create a short and cut the power. It ended up in the trash. Sad, because I liked that laptop so much more than my Alienware...

4:18 I have a Travelmate 5330 with an almost identical keyboard (although wider). Perhaps Acer really liked using that keyboard layout back in the day.

I had a travelmate 4060 which was quite similar to this machine other than the ferrari stuff.

The layout on my old Aspire 1536 was quite similar, those speakers more or less sucked on it though.

2005, Schumacher lost world champion to young Fernando Alonso in the Renault. Not a good year for ferrari

Nope, 2006. It was Kimi vs Fernando in 2005. Fernando won because Kimi's car broke every time.

@@kiisseli1337 still ferrari lost in 2005, still to Alonso, no facts changed. Do I need to mention McLaren? Nope, it's a ferrari laptop in 2005.

Oh. My. God. Thank you so much for uploading this video, this totally took me back to my really early childhood; in fact, it is my first ever computer (I still consider laptops computers, though) that I've ever used in my life! Gotta say broski, this nostalgia hit me hard-

Good old acer, I had a 2006 acer aspire 5670 which was similarly specced as this ferrari model, but of course without the ferrari bling. I remember seeing this ferrari model in the stores, and going like holy shit that is an expensive laptop.
