Hey, this is an amazing video! My Acer Nitro 5's CPU fan is giving me problems and I'm planning on replacing the fans. However, the screws that hold the fan in place are extremely tight and won't come out. Also, one of the screws themselves are stripped. What should I do here?
@computerspecialist85332 ай бұрын
Can drill the heads out with a small drill bit then you'll need screws for the new fan. Also you can just by something like this www.ebay.com/itm/296699968537 and be done 😁

where did you purchase the new fans from, and how much did they cost? also is it normal for my cpu to reach 88 degrees under 1% usage (it showed that in nitro sense) or is there some problem in my fan
@computerspecialist85337 ай бұрын
www.ebay.com/itm/125613881944 . Price was $20. Also 88 is way to hot! (I'm sure your talking Celsius right?). Not damaging, but near that. I'm sure under a load it gets worse! Take the bottom of the laptop off and lay the laptop on its side and turn it on, launch something graphical (Game, Screen Saver, etc.) see of the fan closes to the edge of laptop / memory stick spins at all (or is making noise and wobbly etc.)

@@computerspecialist8533 hi, thanks for the reply, yes i was talking in Celsius, i took of the bottom cover and saw that one of the fans actually had a bit of friction (it took some time to reach the max speed when i put it to max settings on nitro sense). Compared to the other fan which seemed pretty functional it was taking a long time to start and when the laptop shutdown it immediately stopped. But can just one fan be the reason for so much heat?
@computerspecialist85337 ай бұрын
@@SherlockHomeless2485 absolutely! That is your problem and I would recommend replacing both fans since you have to take off heat sink anyway!

Hey! I’m in Brooklyn nyc, and my laptop, this exact model is randomly shutting off. I do have issues with my fans but heat is not cause the random shut down. Could malfunctioning fans, with no heating problems cause shutdowns? Can you service my laptop pls

What temps does the CPU and GPU Get?
@cnflexae2 ай бұрын
Do i need to put new thermal pads because i repasted it 3 days ago and the temps remains the same thing
@computerspecialist85332 ай бұрын
What's the temps of the GPU and CPU? Also do the dans spin freely if you manually spin them? These fans are also know to go bad.
@cnflexae2 ай бұрын
@@computerspecialist8533 the cpu now reach 100c on normal usage and gpu 85c and the fans on 4000-5000 rpm and the fans in good condition but the problem in thermal pads i think
@computerspecialist853312 күн бұрын
Yeah that's way to hot! The pads wouldn't affect this, since that's all thermal paste area! What paste did you use? and also its the same model laptop? Reason I ask is some new models use liquid metal now, not thermal paste. I have customers that try and replace the liquid metal with thermal paste and it would work good enough! It's easy to spot since it looks like metal. You also sure the fans are spinning properly, the heatsink is screwed all the way down (Like one screw isn't stripped etc.) and that you can see through the fins on the heatsink (No blockage)? Also you can set the fans at high with software or even a button the keyboard, try doing that and see if you get same temps.

Hello!, came to this video to ask a couple questions Lately the fan has started to turn on and off (the gpu was averaging 250 rpm on max in nitro sense, which wasnt the case before since it used to be around 5000+ when on max), I've checked to see what the problem of the fan was but i couldnt figure it out, and was wondering if you have any ideas about it (the fan makes this really loud noise whenever it spikes from 250 rpm to over 2000, and then it just stops making the noise when it drops down to 250, rpm or lower again on max) Also the performance has gotten way worse, i cant run most of the games i play on 60 fps anymore, now its running around 30 or less. I've had this laptop for over 2-3 years now so im not suprised if its started degrading from use overtime So if you have any suggestions on what i should do or fix, please let me know, i would really appreciate it.
@sayzu53 ай бұрын
Also forgot to mention, right now the GPU fan is on 300 or less, even on max in nitro sense, sometimes it spikes up to over 1000 but it'll just drop back to under 300
@computerspecialist85333 ай бұрын
What temps are the CPU and GPU running at?, Should like an overheat somewhere and the cpu and / or the gpu are throttling down to protect themselves. Would recommend new thermal paste & viscous thermal Paste and new fans. It's very inexpensive and will most likely fix your issued! If you feel uncomfortable doing it, bring it to a local computer shop!

@@computerspecialist8533 got another problem, my model is the an515-54 (so i commented on the wrong video 😅), i managed to clean and repaste the fans and vents yesterday, and it was running like new (with high rpm and no more of that god awfull rattling noise), but today it started making that loud rattling noise again, and the rpm got lowered too.(Its not overheating anymore since i repasted it). Uncle said something about how the sound might be because the magnet in the gpu is demagnetizing, so im wondering if you have any ideas what to do, cause after i cleaned and repasted everything it was running quiet just fine, now its really loud and the performance dropped a bit. I mean i can just open it up again and clean it to double check.
