+Bailey Lau your memory might have defects or you bought slower memory. For example if you bought defective memory the system will use a page file on the hard drive as memory, which is much slower than ram.

I have an Aspire V5-561P-6823, 2 out of 2 slots used, 6 GB RAM. Every store/electronics shop I go they say you can't upgrade RAM on this model (literally, "...You can't upgrade ram on this model..."), however everybody I talk to are are just 'kids' who know a lot about electronics but I doubt they even have a HS diploma. I know less than they do but on CNET.com the specs say "Max supported size 16 GB". This might sound obvious to you but I need a definite answer from someone who KNOWS what they are talking about... Can I upgrade this laptop to have 2x 4 GB 'sticks' for a total of 8 GB? I need to hear it from someone who knows electronics, not someone who looks like a grown baby walking around with shit filled diapers!

D Sandoval You can, I did. I have almost the same laptop as you do. But mine is an Acer Aspire V-561P-6869. My base was a single 4gb ram card, I upgraded mine to 8gb in each slot. So if you're only upgrading to 8gb in both you should be. But make sure you get the exact ram cards for your device.
