+Nickuncle Perfectly understand that bro. Ninja attack on the bases without vehicle spawn points, coordinated with flying mission when you get there. But to do that you need M3, cuz jeep carry only 3 troops and M3 halftrack carry 10 troops which is needed to capture map room. I was known for those M3 ninja runs. Depends on the distance between the bases, just to get there it could took me between 45-70 min of ride itself. Def stuff for someone with great deal of patience.

Devildog, if you see this, and if Abshire meant crew the bombers by what he said.. Yes, you can fill the bombers with actual non-ai crewman. There's a setting you can turn on, and then the person has to click "join flight" in the hanger, and click on whoever he wants to join, and the flight can be in progress when he joins. I'm not sure if that's the exact right way, but I played this a long time ago, and I've done it before. You can crew the bombers.

Hey Devildog. Aces High has since been given another graphic overhaul (hereby dubbing thee, "Aces High 3"). It's also now on Steam, and the online trial is 2 weeks free (with I believe another 2 weeks on top of that for Steam first-timers.) Feel free to give it a shot if you were interested! It really doesn't look bad for an MMO that's almost 20 (!!) years old!

The art print before the video starts is by Len Krenzler. I had some input on the final version. The B-17 going down was lost to flak on 11/5/44 over Frankfurt. Pilot was killed and the rest of the crew became POWs.

Hey devil, I noticed you missed with every single bomb you dropped. The calibration mode is there so that the bomb sight is calibrated to your speed and altitude, you don't drop your bombs from that mode. To drop your bombs on target, exit that calibration mode and they'll hit the target. Also, I don't know if you had full RPMS or not, but before take off, press and hold the keypad plus sign, that'll make you go faster and also help you take off easier.

I still remember a mission when we had over 40 people in a formation. mostly bombers. such a cool experience. it was about 2 hours long.

Like how you guys tried to stay together on flying formation. You have to drop your bombs ahead of your targets. But I feel like the B-25 Mitchell or B-24 liberator can do you much better.

Tip: speed essential. exit field on set heading. use auto pilot for climb out alt.X. at desired altitude exit climb auto, go level auto, X. fix heading for target as adjustment will affect speed. Open doors, will slow plane, let drag finish it's affect. @ max speed, about a grid Calibrate for speed. bombs away as targeting reticle is about to cross target.

Funny vid and vox. Pilot did not complete bomb aiming, so bomb sight was aiming 90 degrees vertical. It would be unusual these days to see this video in the game, most new players get to grips with fighters. More experienced bombers tend to teach new players and supply them with files and charts etc.

Sure you know there are some pretty good graphics mods out for this. Got them a couple of years ago, but they really helped. Good vid, enjoyed that. Makes me want to go to CloD and fly the Blennies. PEACE

Im surec someone mentioned it already but you missed because you dropped while in calibration mode. Also in bomb sight mode you can steer the aircraft slightly.

also if you wanna spend the time, start from a far away airport do a long slow climb and get way above the clouds. It makes bombing a lot more difficult hitting very small targets, small adjustments make a big difference, plus ensures you will never have to deal with fighters can't climb that high or fast enough. Especially effective since you have a squad already, just a fun more real bombing experience! but than again doesn't make such an entertaining video.

Awesome video devil Have you ever played the game battlestations pacific. I always loved playing it. Me and my mate would launch mass bomber party's and send them all at the enemy. Awesome as they would usually respond with some ships but loads of zeros or other planes and it turned into awsome suiside missions and awsome areal combat as gunner ai and squadron shoot without command and drop bombs when you do

You know what would have been a nice feature in this game. For the people who actually fly a multiplane formation. if all the players can slave their flights to a lead plane. That way one person is controlling the formation and all the other planes can actually concentrate on defense. and avoid this clusterfuck lol.

Because money appropriated towards graphics and advertising makes more sales than genuinely well-balanced well-tested games that seek to fully and completely provide the experience they set out rather than to fool their audience with a bait and switch and hope they don't refund the way EA or UBIsoft operates. Plus it takes years before a game is considered to have stood the test of the time and gets considered a classic. You can't always easily see what makes a game special just by glancing at it but you can tell which game is shinier.
