+Nickuncle Perfectly understand that bro. Ninja attack on the bases without vehicle spawn points, coordinated with flying mission when you get there. But to do that you need M3, cuz jeep carry only 3 troops and M3 halftrack carry 10 troops which is needed to capture map room. I was known for those M3 ninja runs. Depends on the distance between the bases, just to get there it could took me between 45-70 min of ride itself. Def stuff for someone with great deal of patience.

Devildog, if you see this, and if Abshire meant crew the bombers by what he said.. Yes, you can fill the bombers with actual non-ai crewman. There's a setting you can turn on, and then the person has to click "join flight" in the hanger, and click on whoever he wants to join, and the flight can be in progress when he joins. I'm not sure if that's the exact right way, but I played this a long time ago, and I've done it before. You can crew the bombers.

God damn this video sparked up some memories, doing like 60 plane raids on airports, 3 hour long bombing runs, dive bombing carriers. War Thunder just cant touch the immersion this game has being all open world and seamlessly changing from sea, to air, to land without having to change games and modes.

Yeah devil the straight down is for calibration only you have to go to the forward looking one so it's leading your target once your done with calibration and also don't forget to check the wind at the altitude you are at.

For bombing to be accurate you have to fly straight and steady while calibrating your sight. Even opening your bay doors after calibrating will make you miss at 10k alt. Played AH for years, made it to #49 overall player but that was years ago. You can also set your salvo and drop amount with simple commands

Hey Devildog. Aces High has since been given another graphic overhaul (hereby dubbing thee, "Aces High 3"). It's also now on Steam, and the online trial is 2 weeks free (with I believe another 2 weeks on top of that for Steam first-timers.) Feel free to give it a shot if you were interested! It really doesn't look bad for an MMO that's almost 20 (!!) years old!

The art print before the video starts is by Len Krenzler. I had some input on the final version. The B-17 going down was lost to flak on 11/5/44 over Frankfurt. Pilot was killed and the rest of the crew became POWs.

Hey devil, I noticed you missed with every single bomb you dropped. The calibration mode is there so that the bomb sight is calibrated to your speed and altitude, you don't drop your bombs from that mode. To drop your bombs on target, exit that calibration mode and they'll hit the target. Also, I don't know if you had full RPMS or not, but before take off, press and hold the keypad plus sign, that'll make you go faster and also help you take off easier.

Im surec someone mentioned it already but you missed because you dropped while in calibration mode. Also in bomb sight mode you can steer the aircraft slightly.

FYI, You can have another person join your plane as a Gunner while you fly, Don't quite remember the command, but I am sure you can find it in the Aces High Wiki on their website.

Tip: speed essential. exit field on set heading. use auto pilot for climb out alt.X. at desired altitude exit climb auto, go level auto, X. fix heading for target as adjustment will affect speed. Open doors, will slow plane, let drag finish it's affect. @ max speed, about a grid Calibrate for speed. bombs away as targeting reticle is about to cross target.

Devil you should do an event with your fans in this game. Get a good amount of players and have a majority of them in bombers with about 10 p-51 escorts and a bunch of enemies. Do a large formation flight too.

Funny vid and vox. Pilot did not complete bomb aiming, so bomb sight was aiming 90 degrees vertical. It would be unusual these days to see this video in the game, most new players get to grips with fighters. More experienced bombers tend to teach new players and supply them with files and charts etc.

Awesome video devil Have you ever played the game battlestations pacific. I always loved playing it. Me and my mate would launch mass bomber party's and send them all at the enemy. Awesome as they would usually respond with some ships but loads of zeros or other planes and it turned into awsome suiside missions and awsome areal combat as gunner ai and squadron shoot without command and drop bombs when you do

The AI flight thing is something that I hope Gaijin does when War Thunder gets ships. The massed AAA on ships means that singular plane attacks would be extremely difficult, and the complex internal nature and sheer size of ships means that even hits, unless with large bombs, won't do as much. Having a flight of 2 or 3 AI planes with you would not only spread out the AAA fire, but give a bigger chance of sinking the ship as well as add some realism.

Devildog has used the default sound pack in this video there are custom packs made by several players that sound AWESOME. Also the graphics are easily on a par with WT in the open Alpha that is still being worked on. AH is still the best MMO WW2 flight sim on the internet.

also if you wanna spend the time, start from a far away airport do a long slow climb and get way above the clouds. It makes bombing a lot more difficult hitting very small targets, small adjustments make a big difference, plus ensures you will never have to deal with fighters can't climb that high or fast enough. Especially effective since you have a squad already, just a fun more real bombing experience! but than again doesn't make such an entertaining video.
