Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys has been obsessed with this record ever since it came out. They say in the Seventies he used to play it endlessly on his jukebox.

The Ronettes... just one of the many great girl groups of the 60s. The Supremes, The Shirelles, The Chifons, The Angels, Martha And The Vandellas, just to name a few.

Back in my day when we were taught like these young women to dress and be like ladies. Yes our music was wholesome, pure and sweet! No dirty innuendo. Just songs of Love! So Classy to the Hilt!!!!

Eddie Money has a song " Take Me Home Tonight" He samples " Be My Little Baby" and it's Ronnie Spector. She is in the vocals and video. It was a huge hit collaboration.

I was going to comment on this as well. Now that you have seen this video, you NEED to see the video for "Take Me Home Tonight/Be My Baby" by Eddie Money (ft. Ronnie Specter). It was genius how well they were able to incorporate music from 2 very different eras (the 60s & the 80s) together with this song - & the VIDEO, REALLY makes it. Major shout-out to the video producer on this one!

One of the most important drum beats/rhythms in the history of rock and roll, by the great Hal Blaine. 3:30 Dum, da-dum, CHK. Dum, da-dum, CHK. Spotify lists 388 songs that use this rhythm.

Thanks, Ace! Ronnie was amazing.. got to see here live and meet her.. she was sweet and charming! (p.s. Amy Winehouse modeled herself after Ronnie's style.. and ironically, after Amy passed, Ronnie did a version of Amy's song "Back to Black"... ) appreciate your reaction! (RIP Ronnie.. lost her not long ago)

This is a classic. Not sure if you know Amy Winehouse, but this is essentially her inspiration, if it's fair to boil it down like that. Also, this song is the inspiration for Eddie Money's "Take Me Home Tonight" (1986), which features Ronnie singing in duet. This sounds 100% NOT like Dolly Parton. 😆 But YES, you are correctly matching Ronnie up with Christmas music, as she has maybe 9 Christmas songs.

This is an archetypal performance and Ronnie is an American original. This is the Phil Spector "wall of sound" production.

You really should watch the Oscar’s-winning documentary ‘20 feet from Stardom’ - all about back-up singers and starting with this era. I can’t recommend it enough, especially if you want to better understand music from this era and forward.

Lol. The look on your face. And that's an interesting name to invoke, Dolly Parton. I can kind of see certain similarities in certain aspects. As far as yelling and screaming at a show so much that your throat hurts for the next 3 days, I actually did that about 3 weeks ago!

This was the early/mid-1960s. Ronnie also was part of a 80s song by - Eddie Money and she is on that video not so young and sexy as ever... give it a try... Song is - Take Me Home Tonight.

@@gpxo11 not even close. Ronnie had a gorgeous voice for a young female singer. This was such an epic hit and people still listen to this classic. Dolly doesn’t squeak. There are no squeakers in The Rock Hall of Fame.
