You know what they say about first impressions...You said, "they sound like the definition of being happy while making songs"... Murry Wilson was father of the Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson and was also their manager in the early days. He drove them hard and was physically abusive. Its not a reach to link Brain Wilson's later mental illness to his father's abuse.

The video for this really kicks butt. Check it out sometime. I will say nobody’s ever called this song magical. Check out “Songs From The Wood,” by Jethro Tull.

My folks had this on 45 when I was a kid. Being a sci-fi nut I loved it. I still do! I’m not sure why there would be a problem; every other movie and book these days is a post-apocalyptic dystopian story. The irony is that most of this song has already come to pass. You’ll love ELO’s “Here Is The News,” and “Your’s Truly, 2095.”

This was an absolute pleasure to watch you fall In love with everything you did, that those of us old enough to be there when it happened already knew. Respectful, resplendent, and still recognizing the stratosphere of this girl…this artist. Well done✌🏻. Subscribed.

That muted horn you mentioned.... It's the woodwind section of a band/orchestra....flutes and clarinets and some brass in there too. :) I watched this song on black and white television many long years ago.

Great song, but how hard is it for the people that overlay the lyrics to get them right? Many errors in the text of the lyrics for this song. The correct lyrics are online - look them up before creating a video with lyric overlay!

Jeff thought it was a joke when she showed up to audition for his 2007 tour. He thought it was a joke. He thought she was like 14 or maybe 16 . "Must be His girlfriend" (Talking about Vinnie the drummer who recommended her.) She was actually 21. Even though she had just been driven 3 hours out to his country estate from the hospital where she had just spent the night recovering from food poisning on the fight in. . She got right to it and Jeff was soon comparing her to the great Jaco Pastorius. Jeff and his wife took her in and treated like a daughter so much so that everybody thought she was. In this video I can't help but to think "A Father Proud of his daughter"

Castinets are the percussion instruments you are referring to. They are used often in flamingco dancing. "Now" is so hard to listen to because it was her last recording.

Barry Gibb has the reinforced falsetto, his younger twin brothers, Robin Gibb and Maurice Gibb as you rightly said also have higher register access but all also have tenor or baritone grounding in their chest and head voices. All brothers are exceptionally accurate pitch singers which is why the harmony is so clear and clean.

Without listening to much of their earlier stuff, it will be common to fail to understand/appreciate/value these later Beatles' songs.
