The blonde woman was Linda McCartney - the love of Paul's life. Married in 1969. She died of cancer in 1998.

So the machine sounds at the beginning are to imply Paul's music is factory made, commercial. But I think it's fair to believe Paul is simply oriented the way he is. This song was on the radio a lot.
@strathman7501Ай бұрын
I don't quite understand what you're saying. The intro sounds evoke a record pressing plant, stamping out all those silly love songs to fill the world. It isn't intended as a criticism of Paul's music 😉
@SG-js2qnАй бұрын
@@strathman7501 I think it's a press making records too, but it's humor. Not sure why that's hard to understand. 🤷♂️ You know this song was a response to criticism by Lennon, right? Paul's response is all in good fun. He's happily cranking out silly love songs.
@strathman7501Ай бұрын
@@SG-js2qn For the simple reason that you said "sounds at the beginning are to imply Paul's music is factory made, commercial", whereas this is not the implication at all, it's purpose is indeed as you have described it in your new comment. Glad that's cleared up.

Hey Ace! You the MAN!! You are a very smart and open minded guy. I have watched some reactors not like this because he sings “I love you” but thats what he’s trying to convey when he says “silly love songs”. This track has a full buffet of instruments and the vocals are mixed so well! 👍
@michaela8706Ай бұрын
Paul's bass line in this is pure fire. Paul wrote this song as a response to something John Lennon said to a question by a reporter. After the Beatles broke up a reporter asked John about Paul. John replied that he is probably off writing some silly love song. The blond in the video is his wife Linda. She passed away in the late 90's of cancer. You need to check out Paul McCartney's Super Bowl performance from 2005. HIs and Prince's from 2007 were the best ever. Thanks and God Bless.

Lovely reaction to a fabulous song, so clever, just bristling with melodic and instrumental hooks, unashamedly romantic and done with an ironic wink at the same time. Brilliant McCartney.

Paul and Linda spent alot of time here in Tucson, Arizona. 'the desert world' mentioned in Band on the Run. Linda graduated from the University of Arizona here. They had a house on Reddinton Rd. They liked it here because they could go out in public and not have crowds of people. I met him once outside an Ace Hardware store. I just said 'Hi Paul, nice to see you' and shook his hand. And thats how it is here in Tucson.

There's a new Wings album out right now. It is something they recorded back in '74. Live, in the studio, recordings of some of their songs. Soily is the new video. Rocks Hard!

If you like this you will love the medly Hold Me Tight/Lazy Dynamite/Baby I Love You So/Hands of Love on Red Rose Speedway, an earlier album of Paul's. The whole album is great but that closing medly is phenomenal!

We've all wondered that. What was/is it like to be Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison...(The Beatles) the rock band that conquered the world. I was in Jr. High than High School during this period in his career. Paul McCartney and Wings were the absolute VIBE. The music sounds better now then it did back then and back then it was wonderful..LOL!!!

It's been joked that if Paul McCartney were to trip and fall onto a piano, by the time he got up and dusted himself off, he'd have written three all-time classic hits. Pretty much. 🙂

I love that Paul is not embarrased to just write a catchy pop song. I get that there are many musician out there like Dylan and others who are masters of lyrics and meaning and that allright. But at the end of the day songs like this silly love song or "Hello Goodbye" really bring a smile to billions of people on earth. Whats wrong with that? Absolutely nothing. By the way, the bass line of that song!!! 1975 to 1985 best time for music!
